Here Comes Day Guest MagicBands

Don't like the idea! There should be perks for staying on property. What's the point in paying the extra money if everyone gets the same perks. Makes staying on property not worth it!

well I guess your "perk" is that you get to book 60 days and get the band for "free"?

But FP was available to everyone before, whether on-site or off, so why should this be different? On-site has a 30 day pre-book advantage over off-site. :confused3

This reminds me of my nephew. While eating strawberries at his grandma's house, he finished his and said "I want more". Grandma said "they are all gone and those are for your cousin".

He said "I don't WANT her to have any strawberries"

Depending on when you go and how much you want to ride certain rides, 30 days could end up making a big difference. I tend to compare booking headliners to booking CRT in the future. I hope not but that's where it seems to be headed.

I completely agree with you... that is why I am not sure I am going to xln my one night just yet....

I don't get this attitude. Really and truly don't. It was a "perk" for what, a year, with offsite guests being a part of FP+ for only 4ish months. It was not an onsite perk, it was a stage in a roll out. For many of us it's been crystal clear that the day of only for offsite guests was temporary.

Disney never portrayed the ability to prebook as an onsite only perk, and it would make no sense at all for them to make it so. I don't get why you're acting as if onsite and offsite are now equal in all aspects because Disney gave something to offsite guests that was never part of the perks of onsite. Makes no sense to me. Did onsite have no perks a year or so ago before FP+ existed?

That's the point of staying on property isn't it? That's why you pay "more", to get "more". If I'm not getting "more" then what is the point? To be closer to the park....?

Nearly 40% of all visitors (onsiters) have had the advantage of prebooking since January, and with that, the 60% (offsiters) who didn't were still able to book their first choices day of.

Prebook was a slight advantage over day-of kiosks. 60 days will have virtually no advantage over 30 days.

Prebook was never meant to be a perk, not even meant to be an incentive or inducement. It was just a temporary consequence while the system was trotted out.

There are those who think implementation is now complete and this is it - like it or hate it. It's not. There will be changes for at least the next year to compensate for expected and unexpected consequences.

That's how $1.8 billion programs roll.

Onsiters get a full 30 days more to prebook, and don't have to pay for their magic bands. Fair enough I think.

I think we're being played...post count 5

Exactly. I honestly feel bad for those whose only hope was that prebook would be an onsite perk. Not that bad, mind you, but bad just the same.

Just imagine when they announce additional day-of FPs once you exhaust your 3...cats and dogs, living in sin!
I think THIS will be the real game changer for FP+...if you can get more once you use one (or all 3...or after a certain time of day). Lots of people have a strategy right now of making FP+ for later in the day and rope dropping the park to get everything else in.

If you can get MORE FP+ after you USE a FP+...how many people will change their strategy and book morning FP+ with the hope of getting more later in the day?

Looking forward to seeing how it all shakes out.

Fast Pass was always available to all guests…onsite and offsite.

Onsite guests get the perks of EMH and ME that off site guests don't get, as well as booking earlier for ADR's and now a whole month earlier for FP+.

So thankful that this is happening. We have a 2 week trip planned with some onsite and some offsite time. I was worried about using those dreaded kiosks, but now we won't have to:cool1: We are at 72 days out and I can't wait to get my tickets bought and linked!

Yaaaay I'm so happy to read this! We're staying offsite for 2 weeks end of August and literally last night I was discussing with DH the idea of not going to disney as it was going to be a nightmare, this has definitely cheered me up as now we can enjoy ourselves and not have to waste hours at the dreaded kiosks :)

To those saying it should be for onsite only, legacy fastpass was equally for both on and offsite and everyone was happy with EMH being the perk of staying onsite, you now also have a 30 day advantage to snag best fastpasses, seems like an improvement to me not a bad thing! (When me and DH go to Florida alone we stay onsite and I'd have absolutely no problem with off siters prebooking 30 days out, they pay the same ticket price and deserve the same experience once in the park)

Lets all share walt's attitude that disney is for everyone to enjoy :D

Good times!! X

So, for off siters to get a 30 day pre-book, they have to pre-buy tickets correct? If they buy tickets when they get there, they don't qualify for pre-book?

In a word, yes. When we stay onsite, it's nice to get perks like EMH, but the reason to stay onsite is because you want to be in a Disney-themed hotel close to the parks.

I thought the purpose of the boards was to be able to post your opinions...guess not!

You'll have to excuse us "old timers" for occasionally being cynical with regard to opinions (especially strong ones) and low post counts. Often they are trolls just looking to stir up a hornet's nest and sincere new members sometimes get mistaken for those types of posts. Don't take it too personally. Now if you misspell something, that's another matter. The grammar police will attack unrelentingly. :lmao:
