Sitting here waiting near OIA. Geesh, get this over with, I have things I want to do outside today....

It's raining really hard here right now. I'm about 5 minutes from MK. There isn't much lightening, just a lot of rain and some gusty wind.

The rain has been over awhile now. The wind they talked about has picked up a bit here by the west coast. It feels a bit cooler too, but still muggy. Just had my son run after the garbage can going down the street! We put them in the garage so we don't have to chase them again.

Us too. Lost the satellite signal for the TV - but just switched to recorded shows for the kiddos. So we are still quite happy!

It's east of the airport now, looks like the rest of the day will be nice, so if you were thinking of Disney this afternoon looks like the time is right!

It didn't last long. Now it's overcast and windy. I haven't been able to get a current radar reading online since before 11 a.m. so I'm not sure what's going on. I did just get an email stating that the severe weather was over for our area though.

The severe thunderstorm warning for eastern polk county has expired,
At 1131 am edt, national weather service radar indicated the thunderstorm had weakened and was no longer severe, thus the warning has been allowed to expire.
Doppler radar indicated that heavy rain, and gusty winds were still possible from the thunderstorm over southeastern polk county.

We had alot of nasty weather here last night and early this morning. It was a bit scary. Even our weather guys said on the air for a solid 2-3 hours giving second by second updates.

My dd and I slept in our regular clothes last night and she slept with me so if I had to get us in the bathtub quickly we would be close to it. Our town had a tornado reported but it was on the other side of the county. My dd was crying but once I showed her the radar screening of our county and where we live, she was finally able to get some sleep. I stayed up until after midnight to make sure the worst of it had passed.
