With all of the halloween stuff going on today, this (finally) caught my eye on the vmk homepage as i was logging in.

Get Fully Loaded with Herbie Gear for Your VMK Character!

On October 25th find exclusive codes for Herbie merchandise inside specially-marked Herbie Fully Loaded DVDs. Prizes include racing gear, a Herbie couch and Herbie Fully Loaded movie poster for your VMK room.

Thanks for posting! I didn't see that.

oh great and they will probably be 1xuse codes so we will own multi Herbie DVD's!!!!

So, is it wrong to give the DVD to DS and keep the codes for myself?? ;)

I think Tishke, that makes for a great mother - son bonding experience. A little family time watching the movie followed by a little mommy time wearing the new drivers suit.
Perfect !

I think I need some family time too. A trip to the store today for a few DVD's are in order.

.

I am guessing there is no code or anything in the new Cinderella DVD? Surely someone would have mentioned that by now, right?

Figures, the movie I actually WANT to own doesn't have a VMK prize. I guess that's why they call it MARKETING! :rotfl2:

unless you are a quick thinking kind of dude, and spoke to the manager of the local blockbuster on the phone yesterday. ;)

Seems they are getting 15 copies to rent out (plus they will have more for sale), and he agreed to "give" me 3 sets of whatever cards are inside for a "$5 donation" per set, to the hurricane fund box in the store. Since, as you know, he can not "sell" me the cards inside. I'll still buy a dvd, and that will give me our 4th set, as my wife is now getting into the game too thanks to my sis-in-law (thanks deb lol).

Oh and get this? He said I wasnt the first one to call and ask???? :earseek:

I think I'm going to wait until it goes on sale. It probably won't take it too long to make it's way to the 5 dollar bin. LOL, I just don't know what I'm going to do with the extra movie though.

well that was my other thought. You are right, by x-mas they will prob be in the bargain bin. Disney movies, in general, arent bad things to donate to your local elementary school library/Av department, or even a pre-school or church in your area. Just an idea. :confused3

I'm thinking that the codes should be multiple use like the cereal ones were. Cause families in which everyone plays VMK, Aren't going to buy more than one of the same DVD. That makes absolutely no sense. Well, That's what I'm hoping anyway. *Fingers crossed* So all of you who are already planning on buying more than one, I'd hold on to your horses before jumping the gun.

I certainly hope that the code is not a one time use. There are 3 players in our household and I don't want to purchase 3 copies just to get the codes. Oh I hope this won't be the case or else we (my daughters and I) will have to take turns wearing the costume. Ugh......................

Yes, but from disney's standpoint. Look at this board...

If it was a multiple use, then we would only need 1 person on the entire dis board to buy a copy. no one else would "have to" buy it if they didnt want the movie. Well, that goes against the whole concept of marketing. If you put something inside that people desire, that they can also get for free on the internet will they buy the movie? probably not, and surely not as many copies will be sold if it is a multi use code. How many people bought the vmk marked cereal after the codes were all over the internet? How many of you (myself included) have never even SPOTTED a vmk cereal box in the supermarket, let alone bought one? Did they mess up with the cereal codes? absolutley. So maybe we will get lucky again.

But that said, i am with you. it stinks for households with multiple vmk players. But if that is how they do it, i still have the choice to buy more codes or not. but with two kids, i will get at least 2 sets. If i can get 4 for all of us great. But if not, and this blockbuster thing falls through it's not the end of the world. :confused3

I think the only reasonable option for families with multiple VMK users is clear: Decide which child you like most. :rotfl2:

(Is it obvious why I don't have kids? :rotfl: )

Ok, that just made my day. :rotfl2: (especially since it is my birthday today and both kids almost forgot to wish me happy birthday before they left for school.) :rotfl2:

First of all... :bday: Iris!

I think for the DVD codes they should make it a 4-time use code...that way everyone (in theory) in the family could use it and have the stuff. But it would protect Disney from everyone with access to the internet getting the "anyone-can-use" codes.

I'm not sure I explained that very well. My allergies are horrible right now and I look & feel like this -->

Anyway, when you buy a DVD, it's usually to be enjoyed as a family, so I think they should either make the codes usable by 4 people or include 4 sets of cards per DVD. There, I think I said it better that time...

Option 2, which is VERY tempting after a week with the Beasts at WDW: trade the kids in for the DVD and code. Heck, I'd settle for just the code. Want a kid?

SimbaCub63, I didn't see any mention of VMK with the Cinderella DVD.

Yeah, Simba, I can see you on vmk now with a Cinderella set of vmk stuff on your character - perhaps a "Sooty Dress" or the "Torn Dress," or a "Princess Ball Gown" or "The Glass Slippers Set" (comes with one or two depending on if it is after midnight)
