I too know what it is like to be forgotten on your birthday by family and friends, like for 23 years.

Christmas gifts....ooh, I love the way you think ;)

here is some of the herbie stuff in Yavn's room.

the poster is in the back there, and the herbie couches are just TOO cool. I am probably not the only one who immediately thought to open up a sci-fi drive in restaurant (like in MGM) when i saw those bad boys. Anyway, here is a pic:

whats different? :confused3

sorry, not seeing it?

I used to be a manager at a video store, and Blockbuster and other major chains get their DVD's via distribution companies. The advertisments that come in the store copies are not included. Your best bet is to contact the mom and pop video stores that by these movies through retail outlets.

Yes, but from disney's standpoint. Look at this board...

If it was a multiple use, then we would only need 1 person on the entire dis board to buy a copy. no one else would "have to" buy it if they didnt want the movie. Well, that goes against the whole concept of marketing. If you put something inside that people desire, that they can also get for free on the internet will they buy the movie? probably not, and surely not as many copies will be sold if it is a multi use code. How many people bought the vmk marked cereal after the codes were all over the internet? How many of you (myself included) have never even SPOTTED a vmk cereal box in the supermarket, let alone bought one? Did they mess up with the cereal codes? absolutley. So maybe we will get lucky again.

But that said, i am with you. it stinks for households with multiple vmk players. But if that is how they do it, i still have the choice to buy more codes or not. but with two kids, i will get at least 2 sets. If i can get 4 for all of us great. But if not, and this blockbuster thing falls through it's not the end of the world. :confused3

i have seen a VMK cereal box multiple times in all my grocery stores (3)

Will the Herbie Items only be available through the purchase of the Herbie DVD? anyone know/

You make a valid point Moussedude, but I'd like to offer something from a different angle.

I don't think (at least I hope it's not) the intention of Disney to get people who play VMK to buy the movie, but rather to get people who buy the movie to play VMK. I have got to think that a great majority of the people who buy the movie have no idea that VMK even exists. I for one wouldn't even be playing if we hadn't run out of Rice Krispies, so the cereal is what got me into it. I know the Kellogg's promotion has ended, and I hope that the Herbie promotion is replacing it as the way to entice people into playing VMK.

Granted VMK is fun and great and cool and all that, but I think the whole point of VMK from Disney's standpoint is it's use as a marketing tool to get people into the parks via the In Park Quests. Disney will make way more money off a family of four going to a park than they would selling four copies of a DVD to the same family. I know that not everyone gets sucked in by the In Park quests as a purpose for going to the parks, but I'm sure it sways a few people, or entices people who were considering going next year to maybe go this year instead. (Present company included. :) )

And, in order to get Mom, Dad, brother, and sister all into the game, it seems to me they would have to make the codes multiple use. (Maybe put a limit on it as someone mentioned, but at least more than one.)

Anyway, just my two cents.

We now return you to you regularly scheduled DIS-ing.

If they put out the original Herbie with VMK code, I would buy that. Enjoyed that movie when I was a kid.
