:confused3 I am confused,we are staying at POR a family of 5,kids are 16,13 and 10...I was wondering if it is worth ordering from Gardengrocers,I mean I know we will have a fridge but is it worth ordering waters and sodas and some snacks??do any of you actually take the waters with you to the parks at least 1 bottle per trip out?I am afraid we will be too far from the soda machines to actually use the refillable mugs all the time....
I need to know what everyone thinks,we are flying and wont have a car...we leave the 17th

I 'm not posting to respond...I want to know the answer too! I'd like to buy water and pepsi products (haha)

We ordered from them and were VERY happy with our decision to do so! :thumbsup2 We bought water, milk, soda, bread, peanut butter, jelly, snacks, pop tarts, etc. We used everything we ordered.

We did not carry the water into the parks, but we still drank a lot of it in the room. Much better than pumping money into the vending machines late each night!

Definitely buy the refillable mugs for the kids at least. I am sure they wouldn't mind walking to the food court to get drinks. By the way does the resort food court have the "slushy" drinks?

We always take our own bottled water into the parks. We write names on each of the bottles so everyone knows which bottle is theirs. I find the FL water to be fine and I tend to have a touchy stomach, so I normally refill my same bottle w/tap water when we get back to the room. Put it in the freezer in the mini fridge, take it out and put in the fridge before I go to bed. In the morning, it is still semi frozen and continues to thaw in my backpack during the day, so I have ice cold water all day long. Bottled water runs up to $3.50 per bottle at the parks, so you can save quite a bit by bringing in your own. Also bring your own snacks too as those items also tend to be overpriced in the parks. We only tend to buy those snacks in the parks that you can't take w/ you such as ice cream. Have a great time. Ed

definitely get water, juice boxes, snack and breakfast items. It is well worth it and will save you lots of $$$

not bad,you pay a fee for delivery but it's about the same prices from a reg.supermarket.
look at www.gardengrocer.com
There is a $10 charge for the first delivery, and all additional deliveries during your stay are FREE! :yay:

I just placed an order with gardengrocers and found their prices to be a bit more than stuff here in the Cleveland area. But we are flying and it is so much easier to eat breakfast and have pop and/or water and juice boxes in the room. The vending machines at POR were either $1.25 or 1.50 per can and that adds up quick especially when you are craving a can of Coke.

about the refillable mugs. First, I am sure that the kids would love the freedom to leave the room and go to the food area. For me, I am a coffee drinker. Leaving the CROWDED room for 15 min of quiet time is a blessing and a lifesaver. Walking to get coffee in the morning is a must for me. Plus POR is beautiful. The walk is worth it. Just my opinion.

We usually take one water bottle into the parks with us. We may end up buying one also. Sometimes we have had a hard time finding really cold water later in the afternoon. That is usually when we purchase.

Have fun!!!

We always use the 'fridge. Remember soft drinks/h2o are about $2.50 in the parks, so if you are going during a hot season that adds up. We also keep some small snacks and in past years milk and cold cereal for breakfast (this year we have DDP) What I usually do is get everyone an insulated sports bottle and let them "make" a drink in the room before we leave for the parks (Crystal Light On the Go packs are great) If made with ice, it stays cold most of the day. If the drink is finished early, the sports bottle can be refilled at a H2o fountain. I also let everyone pack a few small snacks (granola bars, suckers, fruit snacks) into the back pack to snack on during the day. But with DDP I don't know if that will be necessary!

I also keep a few "grown up" things in the fridge ...ahem...beer :rolleyes1

...and since I have a serious caffiene problem...diet pepsi

is coffee an option on the refillable mugs or just soda?

Get water, the prices in the parks are crazy, and refillable mugs are great, but at Riverside, if I remember correctly, it can be quite a walk to the soda machines. Oh yeah, snacks are a good idea too, you can even get enough stuff to fix lunch one day and not pay high Disney prices.

We are also flying and staying at the POR.. I actually shipped a box down ups on Friday to have there when we arrive.. I put crackers. juice. cereal, bowls , spoons, granola bars and a few other snacks in it.. It weighed 16lbs and only cost me $12 dollars to ship.. I figured with the $$$ I saved on the dining plan I could afford to buy milk at the gift shop and maybe some water when we arrive.. I am going to see how far our room is from the food court before I make the final discission on buying the refillable mugs.. We are headed down Friday and cant wait...

You can use the refillable mugs for coffee, tea, or soda. Enjoy. I love to walk down in the afternoon to get an ice tea by myself. It is nice and quiet time while my dh "naps". I love POR!
