Helping Each Other Out with DVC Member Pins

I was reading the other thread, and noted that some of us really want to try to collect the Member pins that are coming out this year, and don't want to have to pay the "E-Bay surcharge" for them. Personally, I'm trying to collect all of the DVC pins (btw, if someone happens to have an extra Beach Club Sandbreaking Pin, plmk ).

As many of us won't be able to get there four times this year, I thought that maybe we could use this thread to find out who will be there when, and work out some kind of pin swap.

For example: I'll be at BCV in a week, HH in June, BCV in October, and somewhere (probably VWL) in January. I'd be glad to pick up an extra pin for someone who needs one, if it's available when I get there.

Wow! As I was typing this, I suddenly realized that I WILL be at a DVC resort four times in a year!!!

I am fortunate enough to already have a couple extra Jiminy Cricket and Tink pins. I won't be back to WDW until the end of November so if anyone does pick up the next one or two DVC pins, I would be more than happy to trade with you. This is a great idea HookdonWDW.

I have extras of Jiminy Crickett and have Tink coming, when she is re-issued. She sold out at all locations while I was there this week, and I was told there would be no more Tink until May. I would like to connect with someone for the last two releases.

Jiminy Crickett is a Limited Edition, and the rest of them will not be, just FYI.

My daughter is the biggest Tink fan and she is 16. she has a mural of Tink on her bedroom wall. I would love to be able to get my hands on atleast one of them. Can you call a DVC resort gift store and order them or do you have to personally be there? I will be going the end of June and would be glad to help someone out.

Does anyone know the schedule? Is it January, April, July, October? I haven't seen a set schedule so I am just guessing here.

Tink is an open issue meaning they will reorder as they run out. It was difficult to find her last week when we were at OKW but we did find her at the pin shop under the 'hat'.
Jiminy and the other 3 pins are all limited edtions. That means when they sell out they are gone. They can only be bought onsite with a member card as proof of membership.
Tink and Jiminy came out in February. One on Feb 4 I believe and the other about 2 weeks later. If this schedule holds then I would estimate the next pin to be out in the end of April/beginning of May then the end of August/beginning of September and the end of November /beginning of December. Does that sound right?

If anyone is going and can pick up some pins I would be interested in 2 of each of the remaining 3. I will gladly pay for them and postage as well!

Wow! I'm glad that there is interest in this! When I go down, I will pick up some of each of the two that are available (Hopefully, Jiminy won't have sold out!). I'll be home on the 28th, and post what I have available. I'll do this for each of my trips, if there is interest. Because of my vacation dates, I'm most worried about getting the last pin, since it's being released during such a busy time of the year.

Nancy - those dates sound like a pretty good guess. According to Disney's official pin site, Tink became available on 1/15, and Jiminy on 2/06. If they are releasing the LE's quarterly, that would mean on or about 5/06, 8/06/, and 11/06.

CoolDisneyCat - I didn't register for the event in time... otherwise I would have loved to have gone. Do you know if they create waitlists for pin events, or allow late registration?

I'm in! Is there a list for the schedule of when they're released? I'll be at WDW in June and July, but then not back again until next February.
I'm good to go with Cricket, hubby found him on his trip recently and with Tink, just grabbed her off ebay for $9.99 with $1.50 shipping! I was pretty happy about that since it costs $10.50 to begin with anyway. I was the only bidder! I think it was just pure luck.

Don't want to burst your bubble, but though the Jiminy pin retails for 10.50, the Tink pin retails for only either 5.50 or 6.50. I too bought mine off Ebay for 9.99. Good deal, but not the fantastic one it would be if they retailed for 10.50.

I have Jiminy pins would like to trade for/purchase the next three LEs. I will be there in Dec, but who knows if #4 will still be available?

I lucked out and found a Tink one this trip. Didn't realize that they were so scarce until I tried to get more every where - but they were all sold out.

I'm going in May (but then, so will alot of other members-Member's Homecoming week) and will pick up what I can. Two a day is supposed to be the limit? I think this is a great idea! And for the poster going to HH in June-hopefully they'll have a good selection-I just came back from there and there were plenty of pins. Kicking myself for not filling up.

HookdonWDW - here is a link to WDW's website about the event. As far as I know you can still register by phone. I am not sure how it would work to buy the exculsive pins, but you can always ask. I would love to meet you and any other DVC folks there.

Tigger1 - This, fellow DVCer, is the problem. The official word is "no"! You have to be there in person, member id in hand.

Thanks for the link - I called the phone number, and they said that the event is not sold out, so I can even register on the day of the event. If our schedule works out, I think I'm going to try to attend. They can't guarantee any exclusive pins though, so I think I'll wait until closer to see if it looks like there will be extra pins. It's a lot of money to spend and not be able to buy pins!

Our trip has been changed around a little (for the better!). DH's business trip has changed around, and we're leaving home a little early. Because of this, I'll be at WDW this weekend (Friday and Saturday), as well as the following weekend.

Does anyone still need Jiminy or Tinkerbell?

I saw the pic for the other pins in the series in the Vacation Magic I got today. Wow, I love the Cinderella one. I bet that is gonna be hard to get. Now that I have Tink and Jiminy I feel compelled to have them all.
