Okay...I am freaking out a bit here because things for our VR seem to be going all wrong. First off, my parents and sister have decided to forego our VR (which they were happy about before) so they can take another cruise instead (just got back from one 2 weeks ago). They are not going until next September, but do not want to spend the $$ to go to Disney so they can save for that. Since that is the case, they were taking my aunt and uncle down too, so now they will be unable to attend (they will not fly and are getting up there to drive themselves). Now we are not going to have some of our most loved ones for our most special day (didn't have a really great wedding, to say the least!) And this cuts down considerably on our guest list (27 people to 13). I bought centerpieces and invites and gifts already for everyone which we will not be able to use now. (My mom said not to bother sending invites to any of them as they will not be attending now).

Then we were going to have a videographer and when they went to send us the contracts, they said they made a mistake and that the price we were quoted was wrong and that it was $300 more to do it on Saturday. (I don't want to name them as they are very reputable and it was an honest mistake on their part.) So we figured we would go with our second choice (we were trying to cut costs here) and contacted STVS again. Well, as you can guess, they are booked now for our date now.

Then I got an e-mail today from my EM (we are having our VR at the Swan). I asked her a while ago about Randy Chapman to do our photography. She said he was one of their photographers and she would set it up. Lo and behold...now he is not available! She told me to go to their website and pick out another photographer style to use at our VR. We are really confused about the different styles (traditional, photojournalist, modern, etc.) and have no idea who or what to choose.

Could anyone give us names of good photographers around Disney or explain the different techniques? When we got married you stood in front of the camera and smiled and they snapped the pics. Also, any good videographers? I really love the things some of them do with the beginning and ending to make it "Disney."

Thanks for listening to my ramblings. Its just that it all seems to have hit at once! You guys are the best.

I'm so sorry things aren't going as you had hoped. I know I would be very disappointed.

Damon Tucci did our photos. He was with Disney Photo at that time, now he is on his own. I loved how the pictures turned out. He did a combination of posed photos and hanging out to capture special moments. I'm a totally sappy girl, and there is a song that brings tears to my eyes even today, almost 8 years later. DH knows this. It was on our list of things to please NOT play but the DJ apparently got that wrong and played it during dinner. It started and I looked at DH and got all wet-eyed. He and I tilted our heads together and exchanged many I love yous. It was a very special moment, hearing that song. I was just embarrassed to have it played and cry, so that was why we had asked for it not to be played. Damon captured it, without us ever noticing. It was a very intimate moment, and he got it without ever intruding on our moment together.

Oh - the song is True Companion. It is a very powerful, touching song. And I'm a total sap!!!!

AHUTTON,
I almost got teary reading your post as "True Companion" was played as my Husband and I had our first dance together at our wedding in September. Luckily I have heard it so many times before hand that when we danced I did not have to cry!

I'm so sorry things aren't going well. I would send the invitations anyway, maybe your family will change their minds. I wish I had alternate video and photo for you, but I used Randy and stvs. Good luck and don't let people rain on your special day. I'm sure it will all work out.

Im sorry to hear about your situation,,:( It's hard to plan everything from a distance and get everyone organized. My Disney wedding was very small so I know how it is when people you care about are not able to come,,:(

My wedding was just on Oct. 29th,,we used Damon Tucci as well and I would definately recommend him. He was great at our wedding,,and Im extreemly happy with the photos,,we actually had our finished album before we even left Florida! Here is a link to his web page for more info on him :

I wish you the best of luck with planning,,,:)

I am very sorry to hear about all of you dissappointments. I know how you feel my guest list for my Vow Renewal has gone from 30 to 18 and I too had gifts and Welcome Bags made for everyone. Did you contact Randy on your own and see if something could be worked out. He is very accomidating and maybe something could be done. I agree I would still send out all of the invites. Much pixie dust goiing your way. Remeber the day is for you and your husband and it is at Disney it will be magical.

Thanks so much for all the responses. I'm trying to calm down now and think rationally. I spoke with my EM and she recommended Malcolm Yawn. I went to his website and fell in love with some of his black and white pics. They were absolutely stunning, so hopefully we will be able to get him. I'm still not sure about video, but we may end up going with our first choice and paying the extra as I really like their demo. We were just hoping not to have to spend so much on that. I'm thinking now that since we are having so many less people we will save more money, so we can spend extra elsewhere. And you are right, it will be at Disney, so how can it be anything but magical? Thanks again for patiently listening to my rantings!

I am like you and invited slightly over 200 guests. On my side most of them were family. My mother has 8 other brothers and sisters. And they have children and their children have children. Anyway almost all of my side of the family can't come and I am disappointed and I have also bought favors, bags etc. But in the long run it is money me and my fiance will save since we are paying for the wedding ourselves. But I know how you feel. Our wedding is Dec 11 2004 and we are using Rhett Pyle for photo. He did an engagement session for us in Oct and he did great!! We are using STVS for our wedding video since her primarily does Disney weddings. Everyone speaks very highly of him. Good luck!!!
