OK my family is needing some big help so I am hoping that someone can help me. We were wanting to take our second DCL cruise summer of 2005 but with the hold on the dates and rumors of the boat going west we have decided to just start planning for 2006. I have been trying to get an idea of what a Cat 6 with 2 adults and 2 children ages(4 & 9) would be during July or August. I tried to price it for 2004 but the price seems awfully high since it is only a couple of months away. Since we would be booking as soon as the dates come out would anyone be willing to share what they paid for a Cat 6 with 4 people in the room for this summer just so we could have an idea and start putting money away for it. Thanks in advance if anyone could help that would be great. I sure hope that it is much lower than the $7400 that DCL is quoting for this coming July:)

I cant help you with the price, i was just going to suggest booking the latest sailing you can now and then when the date comes out that you want you can just transfer your deposit. That way you can start paying for your trip now, thats just my opinion incase your interested. :D Also if the summer 05 dates come out and you are interested you can just move your ressie to one of them.

Hi :wave2:

My original quote for my cruise the end of June this year was about $5,400 for three. Cat. 6 the week leading up to the 4th of July. I booked through DU during a promotion so I was able to get a $200 instant rebate and $100 shipboard credit, so you can subtract that.

I booked the day the rates became available which was late December 2002.

Now I was also looking at the middle of June and the rates were a good bit cheaper. MY TA told me that the week I was going was considered a holiday week and that was the reason for the difference.

It will give you an idea though because this is only a rate for 3. I think you can add another $1,000 or so on for 4 during this holiday week.

*edited to add*
no insurance, no air, no transfers

We did a Cat 6 in June 2003 for 4 but both my kids were considered "adults" on board as they were 13 & 15. We were at just over $8000. So I'd think you'd subtract about $1000 from that for the kids being younger.

Oh - that included our airfare, transfers, and night before stay at the airport hotel as well.

Hi,

I've booked 4 families through DU for a 3/4 land sea arriving at WDW on July 29 this summer. One family has 2 adults, and 2 kids, aged 4 and 10. We are all in Category 6, and their price is $5319.40. We booked in July of 2003, and all took advantage of DU's $200 rebate.

Hope this helps!

Hi there! We are on the cruise on July 10 2004, 7 day eastern. We booked back in August 2003 with Allseasons for a total of 5450. That is for cat.6, 2 adults and 2 children 8, and 11. It doesn't include air, disney ins. or transfers. It does include all taxes!

Whew...you guys have just calmed down my heart a whole bunch!! When I saw the quote on DCL I thought my 2006 trip was going up in smoke. I should have known better that to get the best rate you book right when the rates come out and then watch the rates go up until the cruise....Thanks again with your great info I can start putting money away so that once the dates are released we can have our deposit in hand and get the room we want.

Kathy

Good for you. You will have a GREAT time!
