:crowded:Hello we have a family member that wants to go to Disney with us in December but money is tight . So I was thinking does Disney rent campers and is it less money than say POL . That is where my family of seven:crazy2: is staying . They have a family of 4 Mom and 2 teenagers and a 10 year old. I would feel better if she was in a camper . She just wants to stay on site with the kids .

I would consider changing our reservation as well if the price was right we have always had a discount and have not seen any for camping site just the cabin .

Disney doenst rent campers or Rvs, only the cabins. Last year we rented a 30 foot trailer from greenbergrvflorida.com, they drive it to your campsite and set everything up. It includes all your bedding, towels, pots and pans, etc. If you are on a tight budget you can have groceries delivered and cook at the camper. This trailer was rated to sleep 10, I think the cost was $750 for the week, but they also have smaller models for less money. Then you have to pay Disney for the campsite, the sites vary in price depending on time of the year, you could call Disney and give them your dates and they will give you pricing and site options. Its not much cheaper in the end over some of the resorts but you can save on food. This is the only way we will do Disney in the future, the campground was a wonderful place to spend a week.

Other then the cabins, Disney does not rent campers. But if you search around here a little there have been quite a few recent discussions on camper rentals. The one most mentioned is Greenburg

A quick trip over to their website shows that depending on the unit you want to rent (recommend the ones with slide outs as they add a lot of spece, your looking at about 600-700 for the week rental. Ontop of that you have to add the rental cost of a site which vary based on site type. here is a good link to show you 2014 prices of the various site types. With money tight and a rental unit I would say Full hookup (meaning full sewer for showers/bathroom use) or preferred sites would be best for them. You dont mention when in december, but that is a peak time and your looking at an average of 140 a day.

So if you take 140 a night you are looking at around 840 for the site, plus 700 for the rental and that comes to just under 1600 for the week before taxes and tickets.

Of course, some of the rentals trailers can sleep up to 10 or more people, so that cost could be shared between both families. But with the cooler weather in december, it also means more time spent indoors and a single camper could get a bit cramped that way.

Another idea is looking at value resort deals and see if you can make the trip affordable that way.
