We are going to go to disneyland sept, oct, or nov? Our biggest issue is crowds. I can't find a crowd predictor. Any input or links would be great.
Thanks so much!!!

Sept. after schools are in session is usually decent (don't have a date)

Oct. will be busy with Halloween the whole month

Nov. decent at beginning - busy as it gets closer to Thanksgiving.

NOTE: There are NO guarantees this year since Carsland is opening and will bring more crowds.

The first week of November is pretty decent but I agree with the PP. Carsland could throw that completely out of whack!

Weather wise, September can still be quite hot. You may want to keep in mind that Haunted Mansion and Space Mountain will go down at the beginning of the month to install the holiday overlay. Halloween parties began last year mid September.

October has gotten busy each year with all the Halloween activities. Also keep in mind that Small World will go down at the end of the month to install the holiday overlay.

November gets busier depending upon when they decide to start the holiday season. Typically, the official start begins in November, on either the Friday before Thanksgiving or 2 Fridays before Thanksgiving. However, last year they began on Monday.

Also, from Mouseplanet, here is a list of events from 2011 that might give you an idea of some crowds to expect during the fall.
HalloweenTime at the Disneyland Resort – September 16 to October 31

Fall 2011 MouseAdventure at the Disneyland Resort – Saturday, September 24 (Advanced division) and Sunday, September 25

13th annual Gays Days at the Disneyland Resort (unofficial event) – September 30 to October 2. Event attendance will be higher at Disneyland on Saturday, DCA on Sunday.

Mickey's Halloween Party at Disneyland – September 30; October 3, 7, 11, 14, 18, 21, 25, 28 and 31.

MousePlanet Night at Mickey's Halloween Party (unofficial event) – Friday, October 14.

CHOC Walk in the Park – Sunday October 16.

Utah Education Association convention (UEA, a.k.a. "Utah Escapes to Anaheim") – October 20 & 21. Expect unusually large attendance levels October 20–23 as Utah students and families take advantage of a 4-day weekend created by their school's participation in a state education convention. Not all Utah schools or teachers close for or attend UEA, but the impact on the Resort is usually noticeable enough to mention.

My personal favorite time to go is early November. The weather is usually great. You get to get a preview of the holiday decorations but miss the huge crowds that show up for Thanksgiving and Christmas. The park does operate with shorter hours but since there are less crowds you can actually get just as much done in less amount of time.

Early November is good. Before the big holidays and after Halloween. Also check the hotel rates. Usually the cheaper the room rates the less crowded the parks are.

+1 for November a week or two before Thanksgiving. Only downside is there's a greater chance of getting rain during that time but the odds are still in your favor. If you go during Thanksgiving, the day before Thanksgiving and actual Thanksgiving day tend to be okay. The day after Thanksgiving, especially afternoon, is when things get busier because people are done with "family stuff" and out and about.
