Ive got the "I cant go to Disney World for a very long time" blues!!! AAHHHHHH!!! What do I do????

I'm sooo sorry! That is the worst feeling isn't it?? It's like the day after Christmas when all the fun is over....ARGH!!

To cure this, you need to start planning a trip...even if it's 5 years from now!! Get busy....start looking at dates, researching resorts, make a budget based on today's cost and start planning on how to save! That will get you feeling a bit better at least!! Good luck and hugs!!

We just got back (Aug 16-23) & this is really the first time I'm back on the boards because it's a little depressing knowing it'll be at least 2 yrs before we return. But I figure where else can I express my misery & have such an understanding audience.

BTW, we had a great trip despite being drowned rats, thanks to Faye.

I can relate. We just had a trip Jun 18-Jul 2. We go to WDW 2 years in a row then go somewhere else the next year. Next year will be the off year.

We love the planning, so we've already talking about the next trip.

We're about 20-25 min north of Pittsburgh. Route 8 goes through Gibsonia. The turnpike exit 4 is Gibsonia.

Thanks for the reply. I'd had never heard of Gibsonia. I'm in a little town called Swoyersville, which is in the NE right near W-B/Scranton area.

Daleswife, when are you planning your next trip? It looks like 2010 for us. I guess I should be happy because originally DH said he wanted to wait 3 yrs, but because of Faye he changed his mind & now wants to go a little sooner. We did have a great trip but because of the weather there were many things we did not get to do. Two years just seems so far away (boo hoo).

I wish I had an answer! We went to Universal for 4 nights this August (first time) and I really REALLY wish we had done Disney instead. I totally thought that, although it was okay, it wasn't as nice or fun. I had gotten great airfare and the tickets were $82 so I got sucked in.

Now we're already booked for 11 nights in Hawaii next June (yes, all booked, used airline miles for all 4 of us, First Class , and got the timeshare for 7 nights, then I just need 4 more nights but picked it out already where we'll stay). So, that is a big trip, and probably with school and all, it'll be our only big trip next year.

I haven't been to Disney since last year August. boo hoo.

If you are like me, you'll check out airfare deals and try to work in a 5 day trip somewhere next year - only it has to be when school is out, so summertime. Maybe next late summer. You never know - if it works out, you can save up and sneak in a little trip.

What kills me is by the time you get the tickets, you may as well get a 10 day one - but I don't think I can do 10 days!

I know what you mean. We can't go until 2011. (Just had a baby and want to wait until he's out of diapers and walking). To beat the blues, I've been on the budget board looking for ways to make extra cash, selling on craigslist and doing surveys. My goal is to have the whole trip paid by doing this. I figure in 3 years, I'll have most of the money for it. I also priced out a couple of the deluxe hotels and one moderate using 2009 prices on Disney.com just to give me an idea of what my starting point would be since it will only go up from there. 3 years is a long time to wait but it will be worth it.

I'm with you. Just went in April 08 and I want to go in November, but hello we have no $$. We're not going until August 2010, but I'm having withdrawals. DH just yelled at me for begging to go the other night. I really, really want to be there. Hello mil is leaving on Monday to go and what I would pay to be in her suitcase. Actually DDs asked if they could come along. I almost said yes....she's got a room all to herself - we can sleep in the other bed!!! Oh well I guess I'll just listen to Live365 and scan these boards some more. I'm trying to keep myself busy with making Halloween costumes, but it's not working. DD9 is going to be Queen Narissa and DD6 is going to be Giselle - white wedding dress.

Oh well There's always the lottery!!

WE are looking at 2010 too. DH dont care when we go back, but funding reasons has put it at 2010. I was there for Faye too. August 15th through the 24th. We did alot. We went in the rain. Even went to Typhoon Lagoon. Didn't have to wait in line for hardly anything. We just bought rain coats and put the cover over the stroller and had at it!!! to be honest with you....TL was AWESOME in the rain!!! No lines and we just went up to every slide and got right on. Even went straight back up and done the slides with multiple slides and rode every one!!! Just seems that 2 years is way to long. I will tell you this though.....I'm NOT going with my sister and her family ever again though!!!!!!!!!

Oh my, you just had me laughing!

Last year, in March, we went with my sister and her family (and my parents came also, eek). It was her first time bringing her family there. She has one that is 3 years older than my oldest, plus 3 kids much younger (they were 1, 4, and 5). SHE wanted to stay at AKL (I've already stayed there a couple of times). I thought they'd like the boardwalk area or the YC/BC with the villas since she has a family of 6 (going to be 7 next year). Well, we stayed at AKL, it was okay, but she doesn't get the whole get up early and get out thing. When we did the MK together, she was so dawdling, and didn't understand to have someone run and get some fastpasses!

Never again!

I think we'll stick with just our family, no extras.

I like the idea of spending the time trying to earn and save some extra money - that gives you a focus and goal! I'm stashing some cash away, but don't know if I can pull off another little trip.

that is why I could never travel to Disney with friends or family, we are the early ones of all our friends and family everybody else runs on their own time, it makes me nuts!

I know the feeling!!!! Our 2009 trip is being postponed unil 2010(at least!).

I feel your pain! We went in '05, '07, '08. Now DH is saying we aren't going until 2011! I'm still trying to convince him we should go next year. I even had a code for free dining & he wouldn't change his mind.

2011 here. I'm not sad. We just got back from an amazing 7 day trip. I know how hard my husband worked to provide our family with this wonderful vacation, so if we have to wait another 3 years to do it again, no problem.
