Hi, I'm new here and thought maybe I could get some advice since a lot of you seem like experts on Disney! I am trying to plan a Disney vacation for May/April 2007 and am trying to figure out if I should just purchase room/tickets separately or purchase a package. Is there usually a big difference? We are going for 3 nights/4 days. Also what I am trying to figure out is if I should purchase right from Disney or from a TA. Any feedback on your experiences would be appreciated!:)

I booked my vacation from the web site. I see alot of people on here use a TA. I would say that you could get a better deal if you do a package than room and tickets if you stay on site. You can go WDW site and price it as a package and then separately.

Keep in mind that if you want to do DDP you will need to book a package. I booked a package directly through Disney, mostly because it was convienient.:goodvibes

Also, if you book room only through Disney and have AAA they can apply the discount for you. If you want to book a package with a AAA discount then you need to go through a AAA travel agent.

:welcome:

It used to be that if you did your homework you could get a better deal with getting room and tickets separately. However, within the last couple of years the packages are just a tad better deal. You can book a resort reservation right now if you want to make sure you have room and then if a package comes out later you can call and change to the package.

I have never used a TA and don't see the need too. You can call Disney directly at 1-800-828-0228. This is Disney's travel company and they can take care of everything for you.

Have a wonderful trip!! :goodvibes

You should diffently go with a package if you want the dining plan (which is awesome). We have booked directly through disney before but the last few trips we have used AAA and gotten great deals. Shop around and see what fits your needs. Enjoy

Thank you everyone! We have been doing more research today and are probably going to go with a package through Disney and may increase it to 6 nights! I am so excited, this will be the first time we take our 3 girls to Disney! Still trying to decide if the dining plan will be worth it with the 3 DD's being so young, they don't really eat too much so not sure if it would be a waste or not..

Thank you again! :goodvibes
