Hello all,

I've never really posted anything on here, but now that I have a reasonable question, I was hoping someone might be able to help me.

My partner and I will be staying at the YC from 6/7-6/14 with a standard view room. Because we'll be there for such a long time, I really dont want to get stuck in a room with a view of the business end of the convention center. We stayed in the BC last year for a few days and I only requested a king bed. When I asked if a complementary upgrade was available we were given a room on the 3rd floor "looking at" Bay Lake and the pool. (it was half way down that very very last corridor before you get to the end of the beach club. dont get me wrong- it was a great room and we were able to see the boardwalk and the Swan/Dolphin. BUT our patio looked mostly out on the rock garden roof. It was certainly better than a dumpster though!)

Do any of you have any suggestions as to what I could ask Disney reservations for? Room numbers? Room ranges?

ALSO- we'll actually be arriving at the Pop Century on the night of the 6th, and then heading over to the YC early on the 7th. Can anyone suggest a cab company to call and schedule a pickup for? I remember the podcast team suggesting one, but I can't remember when it was that they mentioned it.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP!!! You guys are the best... and its great knowing that I'm not the only adult totally crazy about this stuff. :)

One whole side of the YC overlooks the parking lot and convention center, so unfortunately, I think a majority of the standard views are located there. I imagine they have a lot of requests to avoid this area. Another top request is for a full balcony. While there are alot more full balconies at the YC versus the BC, there are still some that are standing room only. I would just decide which request is most important and have that listed first.Since many times the deluxe resorts don't pre-assign rooms, you can increase your chances of a better view by arriving early and offering to "wait" if necessary for a particular room.

If you want to familiarize yourself with the layout and room locations, this is a great source of information, http://www.disneyzone.net/ycresort.htm . The maps are a bit old, so the views shown are outdated, but it does give you a good idea of what area you'd like to be in. Most people do find the best standard view location is near the wedding gazebo.

I can't find the name of the cab company either, but I know we've arranged it right through bell services. If there isn't a cab already outside the resort, they can call one for you.

We booked a standard view at the YC last year and our room had a beautiful fourth floor view of the wedding gazebo. If we leaned over the balcony we could see Cresent Lake. We checked in at 8:00am, so maybe that helped in getting the better view?
Best of luck!

Cab would be Mears or Checker - but you don't need to call them. On the off-chance there isn't at least one waiting in the parking lot at Pop Century, just ask at Luggage Assistance.

I will be requesting a full balcony from disney, arriving at the crack of dawn, and asking for a wedding gazebo view. haha, thank you all so much! Weeks of googling this problem in my spare time didn't give me half the help you guys did!
