help...X Box 360?????

My oldest child, DH , wants an X-Box 360. I was thinking of getting it for him for Valentine's Day...but I don't know anything about it I am still living in the days of Atari and just recently DS (5) has gotten a gameboy. Please, could someone help me on where to purchase them online or if places like Walmart have them in their stores? I don't even know if they are still avaliable since there was a Christmas rush or what games are popular...thank you for any insight.

The demand for these is still very high. DS got one for Christmas that I had ordered in Sept and one of his friends just spent 15 hours in line this past weekend to get one from Walmart. I would try ordering one on line from Costco or best buy or a similar store, unless you want to stand in line for one!!!

My MIL and I stood in an early am line before Christmas at Best Buy for one, they had 42 and we were 54th!!. We made an adventure out of it... We really bought into the hype of their rarity but low and behold just two days after this my MIL was in a movie store and bingo!! There it was...My son was so surprised on Christmas day.

I've been to Target twice in the last week, each day I went at store opening and each day I saw at least 5 XBOX 360's in the locked up cabinets where the video games are - I went back to Target the same day last Friday and they were gone (just happened to notice) so they are being sold right away but twice now I have seen them in the store - wished I the means to buy one right now but I don't, good luck!!

Thank you everyone. I checked the online stores and they were out of stock. I also called our Walmart and they are currently out and do not know when more are going to arrive. I think I will try calling again in a few days and check out Costco...

Just an FYI a lot of stores Best Buy and Walmart being a couple are holding on to the shipments of Xboxs they recieve until they can distribute a couple to each store. So there will be days when suddenly there are 5 or 10 at a store. This happened recently with walmart they released their xboxs on new years day. That is how we got ours (that and two friends who stood in line new years eve in Ohio and shipped ours out west). Can you imagine it was still cheaper to buy it in Ohio and send it 2nd day air then to get some of the available bundles with stuff we didnt want/need ? Your best bet is just to call around and have friends or family do the same in other locations. Some stores are now able to keep them in stock for at least a little while. Good Luck.

I just found out that one of my coworkers has been looking around for one and he hasn't had any luck yet. I think my DH will need to wait...I don't think I will be willing to pay more than the retail price.
