Hi received noticed that our port of Santorini will be changed to Rhodes for our July cruise (NOT Disney cruise) I checked and the end of august sailing has not been changed and santorini is still on itinerary (for now) i really wanted to visit this port should I change my sailing date to get the ports I want (and risk it being changed too I guess since it’s 2024 ). Don’t mind end of august/September except will be an adjustment with kids back to school. Other than that the itinerary is same. Is it worth to push for later to visit santorini or go with the flow and visit Rhodes ? We also visiting Mykonos in Greece.

We stopped at both in 2021. Rhodes is nice but it’s no Santorini. IMO Santorini is a must see esp if you’ve never been before!

I wonder why it was changed. We are supposed to go to Santorini in July for our Celebrity cruise.

I've been to Greece multiple times. September is awesome. July can be dreadful. In November the locals (on Santorini) were shivering and talking about the cold snap while we were in shorts.

I loved Rhodes, but if you haven't already been to Santorini, it is iconic and I'd make the swap. I'd see if you can hit Santorini whenever there are fewer tourists about it'll be a nicer time (although November was dead so a lot of the shops had closed up for the season).

I just got back from a Norwegian cruise where they changed the ports like 2 months before sailing, so I think the risk is always there. It was originally supposed to go to Romania/Bulgaria but got changed to all Greek islands. I didn’t mind since I haven’t been to any yet but my brother was disappointed. Rhodes is beautiful but like someone said, it’s no Santorini. We went to Rhodes first, then Crete, followed by Mykonos and finally Santorini so each port felt more exciting than the last. Santorini was a bucket list for me but I feel there is always a risk on a cruise because it’s a tender port. I don’t know if I would change the cruise just for it unless everything else made sense to change. You don’t want to be disappointed if you did change and still didn’t make it to the island.
