Just booked AKL for July. Can anyone give me advice on Concierge and what is the best room for a good view of the animals? Any other info on AKL would be greatly appreciated.

What specifically are you looking for as far as concierge goes? I've stayed at AKL concierge twice, so can probably answer any questions.

You should contaact the concierge asap to book the Sunrise Safari--it's an additional fee but well worth it.

As far as a good room, I liked 5417--great view of Arisha rock and close to everything.

Where are concierge rooms? All around the hotel? Is one section better than another for a view? and are all concierge rooms suites?

Concierge rooms are mainly on the 5th and 6th floors. There aren't many suites available, and the suites are not always included in the concierge plan.

If you're looking for a really good view of the Savannah, the 5th floor rooms would probably be better. However, they'll be farther away from the Concierge lounge- which is on the 6th floor.

Depending on how many people are traveling in your party, the rooms could hold up to 5 people.

Actually at the AKL, the suites ARE always concierge, but the concierge rooms are NOT all suites. In fact you need to specifically book and pay for a suite to be in one, seldom if ever are free upgrades to suites given. The price for a 1BR suite (sleeps 4-6 depending on bedroom set up) starts at about $750 per night, and no discounts are offered.

ducklite, actually we think we are getting a 2 bedroom suite. I see you list akl concierge suite as one of your visits. What suite did you have? Did it have a good view? Do you remember what trail it was on? Thanks so much for your help.
