We are flying Delta through Song in june. I have read the news about the pilots striking and what not and I already called our travel agent and she said they would accomodate us but I am still kinda shaky on this. Anyone else flying through delta in early June (the 2nd week)?? Has this every happened to anyone? :confused3

Do a search for Delta and you will find lots of recent threads on this subject. We have Delta tickets for our upcoming May trip. Just keeping our fingers and everything else crossed that it will all work out especially for the sake of those who could lose their jobs if the company goes under due to a strike.

I also had tickets on Song for the first week in June, purchased on Delta's website a few months ago. When I checked my itinerary online a few weeks back I noticed they had switched me to Delta flights with slightly different times and that I no longer had seating assignments. A call to Delta's customer service line (or whatever they call themselves!) got my seat assignments back.

I would suggest you call your travel agent soon to find out what the status of your flights are. I seem to recall that Song will cease to exist after some date in May.

We will be at POFQ June 19-25! We also have tickets on Delta. I've flown Delta since I was 5 going between divorced parents for summer and have only trusted them ever since! I have faith that they will work things out. If not, I live 12 hours away so we'll just drive. I wonder if we'd be able to get our money back. Hmm, maybe we could add another day with the extra $$$ :teeth: .

Song will cease to exist??? NOOOOOOO!!!!! jk. But I already emailed our travel agent and she said that AAA would still get us flights if they choose to strike. And they can't really charge us extra if another flight is more expensive cause it ain't our fault...so just hoping all works out and if not that the employees dont strike until after our flights. :p yeah Im selfish like that

Song was basically little more than a brand-name for a service provided by Delta. They're simply getting rid of the separate branding, and redeploying the nicer aircraft to longer-haul routes (cross-country flights). If you were booked on Song, you're now booked on Delta.

Yes, and Delta has a new marketing chief and they just fired their old advertising agency and contracted with a new one. The new marketing crew wants to implement the Song amenities on ALL Delta flights - eventually. Not sure how that will happen if they're muddling through bankruptcy, but if that strategy works flying Delta will get a whole lot nicer!

I suspect, as time goes on, those seat-back entertainment systems will become standard equipment on all domestic flights, regardless of the airline.

They have said that for the forseeable future only flights over 1700 miles will have the entertainment features. Doesn't make me so happy when flying to Orlando from Boston. It's the younger folks (kids) that really need those at-seat tv's!!!! The difference in noise level on SW with no entertainment feature vs Song/JB with the personnal tv's is incredible!!! Much quieter with the tv's.
Hopefully, it won't take them too long to implement the tv plan on all the flights. I think bicker may be right...we may see them on all planes soon. How nice would that be!!?
