We have a split stay coming up next month (yay!): 4 nights with 2 adults + 2 kids (under 9) at AKL CL and 3 nights at WL CL in a deluxe room adding MIL. Our first trip to Disney was last summer. We stayed at WL and weren't bothered a bit by the construction (and loved the resort). Of course, that construction impact may have changed.

I've also been hankering to stay at the Poly some day, and we won't be coming back for a long while. Our plans for those last 3 days are MK and Epcot exclusive - even dinner at 'Ohana one of those nights. I like the idea of sleeping the separate room in the WL deluxe, plus the CL amenities are nice (though non-essential). The difference in cost is $4. We'd be missing out on the continental breakfast, but that's not a deal-breaker. I've been dreaming about that lobby and the peaceful boat ride back and forth from WL to MK for months - but surely we'd love Poly just as much?

Clearly, I'm stuck! :) WWYD? Any experience and/or advice is very welcome.

I would stay at the Poly. For one thing, you say that you have wanted to stay there for awhile and won't be back to WDW soon. But also, simply because we LOVE the Poly so much. It really is special to be able to see the castle from your resort! And the grounds at the Poly are so lovely. Plus you can walk to the GF to take advantage of everything over there! (except pools) You still have the boat ride as a possibility to the MK, you can walk to the TTC for the Epcot monorail, and you will be dining at Ohanas. It just seems too perfect! (Don't forget the extra fee for the additional adult in the room when figuring costs at the Poly. Not sure if that is included in the WL deluxe room or not?)

Both the Poly and the WL are great resorts, but under your circumstances, I wouldn't be able to resist the Poly!!!!

Good luck choosing! Sounds like you have an awesome trip coming up! Enjoy!

You're so kind - thank you!!

I would recommend the WL CL Deluxe. You have said you are dreaming of it and the extra room will be great

I would do WL CL. Better room layout for your family plus snacks and drinks - it's really a better value. Poly is beautiful, but I actually don't find it very relaxing. The QS is incredibly chaotic and there is no shade at the pool. I would stay at WL and visit Poly. We actually made this exact same decision for our trip in August. We typically stay at an EP resort, but decided to switch it up. I was able to book WL CL standard for less than a Poly standard room. In terms of saving on breakfast, snacks and drinks, it was no-brainer for us.

Oh, this is very reassuring - thank you! And I hope your family has a wonderful trip in August!
