Hello a friend and I are doing a quick 2 day/1 night trip to Disneyland in august. This will probably be her only time going so she would like to see as much as possible. Is it conceivable to see the first WOC showing and then head back to Disneyland to do the 2nd showing of fantasmic with the dessert seating? We should be checking in to the grand Californian around 8am on a Friday so I figure we will still be able to get WOC FPs. Any advice is appreciated!

No. You can see WOC #1 and F! #2 on the same night (I have done it) but the F! dessert seating requires you to check-in at 8PM to get seat assignments. Which won't work if you want to see WOC#1 - unless you want to risk showing up late.

Hydroguy, please elaborate on seeing WOC1 and F!2 on the same night.

We have successfully watched Fireworks in the hub and then gone back to F!2 twice. I found it very frustrating the first year because the crowds were so thick and they were holding us, not letting us go back there, while the F!1 crowds cleared. by the time we got back there, seating was gone and we had to stand. HAd better success with this the following year and was able to get back and secure seating.

So, how do you get out of WoC and then back to F!?!

Yeah - what Hydroguy said. We have watched WOC and F! on the same night as well.

Do you want the dessert or just the good viewing area? Because you can show up somewhat short notice to the standing area right behind the dessert area and have a good view.

I'm not Hydroguy,

But WOC gets done before 9:30. The second F! starts at 10:30, so you have an hour to get there.
If you can get into Disneyland before the fireworks end (9:45-9:50), you won't being going "upstream" against the river of people.

Thanks HydroGuy for the info! I think I will discuss with my friend and let her know the options. I didn't realize the check in time was the same for both shows until I found the F! superthread. :goodvibes

I think we wanted the good viewing area and the dessert but to be honest I like the idea of saving $60 and just getting a churro  Did you walk from the turnstiles back to the ROA area or take the train to NOS when you watched both?

I am not Patrick, but what he said! :)

I have tried the train and it closes during the fireworks so it is hit or miss whether you can catch it. I have not been able to make the train but my kids have. Otherwise you have to swim upstream on Main Street and then make your way thru Frontierland to the F! show where you are usually held by CMs while they clean up the first show.

OK, thanks. This is what I wanted to know. We may still try to do fireworks first and then F!2, but it's always good to have a backup plan.

One thing to be aware of is that the cast members in Disneyland park try their hardest to create a one way affect up Main Street toward the hub on the the right (toward the exit on the left) and then create a traffic circle (counter clockwise) around the hub. There were hoards of cast members preventing people from going against traffic. We were there twice this week for fireworks and this was the situation both times.

thats just what I was going to say...its not that they try their hardest...they DO prevent you from getting through...F! is a MUST DO for me...its my favorite thing ever at DL...so 3 weeks ago I guess i wasnt paying attention to the clock and realized it was almost time for fireworks and we were coming back from DCA..boy did i have to hoof it...they made us go on the right side of main st. (coming in from the entrance) left was going out....and we had to go ALL the way around the hub and in front of the castle to get over to Frontierland to make it over there before the fireworks were over...I have a special place that I sit at for F! and in order to get it I have to make sure Im there ready to wiggle in through the crowds as they are leaving the first F! So needless to say, I was pooped when I finally got over there...but i made it:thumbsup2

I guess it would be possible to get your F! dessert seating taken care of first and then running over to WoC for 9:00. We were there on Wed, June 27, and had no problems getting the fire hydrant spot at 8:20. It was almost 8:45 before anyone lined up behind us.

Three weeks ago we did the first showing of F! and the second showing of WOC. We watched F! from Riverbelle Terrace then made a quick exit as soon as the show ended through the the other side of the restaurant to beat the exiting F! crowds and quickly went over to DCA to catch WOC which we had FP for. Made it in plenty of time.

This is my concern. Traffic comes to a screetching halt when the fireworks start, so I'm not sure how anyone could make that loop around the hub at that point. I guess we'd need to be through the hub before fireworks start and then go where? I know there have been times they wouldn't even let you back into adventureland because F! was 'full'. Gotta love those summer crowds!
