Help with Wii Toy Story Mania - Very Basic

We got this for X-mas and tried it out tonite for the 1st time. Honestly, I wasn't expecting too much given Kevin and John's review, but all of us loved it and the kids could play right away.

However, try as we might, we could not figure out on the set up how to program more than 1 player. So each time we played, we all had to be the same player and keep starting over.

Please, can someone tell me how to get 2-4 players set up. We literally tried everything we could think of and came up with nothing. Part of me wants to think it is a game malfunction (even though everything else worked fine) as I don't want to believe that we could have spent 10 mins trying to figure out what should be a very basic thing.

We have been playing it a fair amount. We had my Nephew round and he unlocked everything for us by playing for a day (he's good) so we can now play it like the theme park ride on a casual basis. My daughter (5) loves the sticker book you can 'buy' with the tickets for playing games but then I am not 5

I think the two player mode is selected when the game first loads up. You should get a menu styled like kids paint blocks, with the number 1 remote flick up the lids on the top and with the number 2 remote choose a colour. Once past this menu and you get the 'story mode' etc. I don't think you can change.

I'll see if I can get a photo using my phone when I get home if you need a better explanation!

How many Wii controllers do you have. We just got this for Christmas as well, and I believe you can't share controllers since in some of the games the players play simultaniously. If you only have one controller, this may be the issue.

That explains it then! We only have 1 remote!

I thought we could plug in the 4 players, and take turns playing individually, allowing our individual scores to be saved each round.

When you play multiple players you all shoot at the same time. It is a lot of fun.

I LOVE this game. I think it is 100% more fun with other people than alone. I haven't gotten bored playing it alone either. Tons of fun!

We love it too although I've had to take a break from it for a few days. Got my first Wii related injury waving my arms around too much trying to get the bonus at the end of a game.

I agree, this game is totally crazy!
Lots of fun for the whole family if you have multiple controllers.

You can unlock many 3D mini-games and play them with the 3D glasses... the kids love that feature (the adults too!).

Play through the Story Mode once to unlock mini-games, then use the coupons you earned to buy other mini-games. You'll have unlocked everything in no time!

for those of you that have unlocked everything.

How do you shake the bees out of the tree? I remember getting that 1st time through but missed one of the other goals. Now we hit every goal but that one (don't remember the board) but I don't ever see the opportunity to shake them again. ARGH

Agree with other posters. Great game for everyone. DD who's 5 loves it.

Another good one for the family is Think Fast. It is a Wii Disney trivia game.
