I need help and I know that Disboards is the place to find it. We are looking for a character breakfast (not in a park, it is our rest day) and not sure what one to pick. Here is a little about us, there will be 4 adult, 5 boys and 2 girls. We have reservation at O'hana for 10:30 at this time but thinking of trying something new (our family ate there the last visit). It will be our only character meal and for some of the kids it is there first time at Disney. This is the first time that we will be renting a car so we can get to hotel restaurant a lot easier. We have only eaten at Boma and O'hana in a hotel before. So, to sum this up what is the best place for 11(some new comers) to enjoy a late breakfast with characters?
Thanks for the help.:)

Chef Mickey's is a buffet in the Contemporary Resort. There's Mickey, Pluto, Donald, Goofy-all the regulars. I am not sure if Chip and Dale are still there.

How is the food? I know I might be asking for a lot but, not only do I want a good character selection, I want a good breakfast too. I have never really been disappointed by any of our Disney meals so I'm sure all the place have good food but which is the best all around character breakfast?

We make Cape May our "farewell" breakfast every trip. We like it because it is not quite as busy as some of the other character meals -- the characters usually come by our table 3 or 4 times during our meal. The food is pretty standard breakfast buffet so you really can't go wrong. It is one of the few meals where you can spend quality time with Minnie -- and she is so cute in her beach attire. Goofy, Chip and Dale are also there.

chef mickeys - once they're done with breakfast, you can walk/monorail right over to the MK from CR and continue the magic with Mickey!

LOL! Looks like the poll results are not really going to help, they are all tied! :rotfl2: We love Cape May~the food is good and while it is a little busy (it IS a CB afterall ;)) it is a little more intimate imo. I am not a big fan of Chef Mickey's it is just too big and too crazy! Just my 2 cents!

We love Chef Mickey's and Cape May :dance3:. They are both great buffets. Chef Mickey's tends to get rather loud as opposed to Cape May, which is kind of quiet. If you want a more relaxed, quiet breakfast, I'd go with Cape May. But if you want lots of action and don't mind noise, then go with Chef Mickey's ;). They are both great restaurants with great food, so you really can't go wrong with either one, IMO ::yes::. It just depends on what kind of atmosphere you'd prefer :rolleyes1.

We love Chef Mickey's:

1. The Fab 5 (Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Pluto, Goofy)

2. Fun Atmosphere

3. Very good buffet, service & character interaction

We ate at 'Ohanas for breakfast for the first time last Sept. and it was very good. We had a late ADR 11:00 a.m. as it was our last day and we weren't going into the parks. It was wonderful to be there so late as the restaurant was more than 1/2 empty when we arrived and there were only a few tables left with diners when we were finished. The staff didn't rush us to leave and we were able to order more food as needed. Also, the characters came around several times during our meal. I think at least 3 times each. Mickey, Pluto, Lilo and Stitch.

The food was good. Especially the fresh fruit and mickey waffles. But really, all was good. Did you do breakfast or dinner at 'Ohanas before? If you've already done breakfast then me 2nd choice would be Park Fare. We've also do PF on our last day (twice before) and would have done it last Sept. but it was closed for remodeling. Again, the food is good, it's buffet and they keep it refilled 'til the last guest leaves. The characters all came around many times and my DD had a great time with them all-especially Alice and the Mad Hatter. And she spend quite a bit of time with Mary Poppins in the lobby.

Here's some fun with Mad Hatter

It was DD's 7th birthday and he didn't think that was so special-not like an "unbirthday" :rotfl2:

I would happily do either when we go back this Sept. And we probably will. :goodvibes

And here she is with MP.

Thanks for all your suggestions. I think we are going to go with Chef Mickey's we are a party of 11 and the kids can be loud at times so I don't see a problem with the noise there. I thought about Park fare but with only 2 girls and 5 boys I don't think that is a good choice. Where is the food better Cape May or Chef Mickey's?

Minnie was at CM breakfast the last time we went. She even sat next to our table and gave our six month old granddaughter her bottle!

Well I canceled my reservations at 'Ohana and changed to one at Chef Mickey's. It worked out good because it is a little later(10:50) so we can sleep in that day seeing it is our rest day. Thanks for all the suggestions.:)
