My almost 7 yo DD wants a WDW Theme party. OK, so do I. ;) I thought it would be fun to have a few "attractions" like calling our jungle gym the "Swiss Family Robinson House" or putting an air mattress down under a rug with a fan blowing on it and calling it the "Flying Magic Carpets" etc. Silly things they can walk around and "DO."

My big idea was going to be buying Pins bulk on ebay and handing them out at each attraction for the kids to put on lanyards I give them ($1 for princess ones at Michaels) then they can pin trade at the end and the lanyard/pins will be the main thing from their goody bag.

I'll also have running music and movies and such.

Any good ideas for me??? I have a month.

Ohhh the planning for this will be fun!

REFILLABLE MUGS!
I don't know if you have enough refillable mugs lying around but (I've got over a dozen different ones, which is why I thought of this) how about giving each child one, set a parent up outside with a drink stand, & let the kids wander over for a refill whenever they need a drink.

WRISTBANDS
How about for the last hour or 1/2 hour of the party, giving each child a wristband to wear for "Extra Magic Hours"?

CELEBRATION BUTTONS
I wonder if you can get a hold of a WDW b-day button for your DD to wear & some "1st time" buttons for the other kids?

MATCHING DISNEY TEES
Not sure if this is in your budget, but how about making a WDW t-shirt for each child to wear to the party? They've got great ideas here on the DIS on the Creative DISigns board.

*If I think of anything else, I'll be back. :)

Thanks for the ideas, the party is on Saturday. This is what I have so far, any more suggestions?

Arrive at the welcome station, recieve lanyard w/nametag & park ticket

Free float between these stations, receiving a pin for their lanyard at each one they complete:

Disney Princess Castle Bouncy House
Mad Hatter's Hat Shoppe
Buzz Lightyear's Bucket Game
Minnie's Musical Chairs
Disney's DDR
Potato Head Bar
Coloring Table
Big Thunder Mountain Roller Coaster (Step2 big one down our hill)

Food Tent:
Popcorn & Cotton Candy Stands
Pooh Animal Crackers
Disney Gold Coins
Lemonade/Juice Boxes

Then:

Pin Trading
Parade
Cake/Ice Cream/Sing

I can also open presents if everyone is wandering around bored. Do you think that is enough to keep everyone busy for 3 hours? I figured most people wouldn't arrive right on time, they would take a chunk of time for their hats, bounce a ton, snack, hang out, whatnot.

Do I need more? I could also do a Hidden Mickey Scavenger Hunt or show a 25 minute Disneyland Fun Sing-a-Long songs video at alternating times in a "Main Street Cinema" area. Or a simple face painting or tattoo station which we could call the Bibbidi-Bobbidi Boo-tique.

Do you think the free flow thing will work or do I need to structure some of the activities?

I think your ideas sound great!

As long as you have someone to run the stations they can flow free- otherwise you can make your daughter the VIP tour guide and she can guide all the kids through the activities.

I agree with Rebecca on the stations. This sounds like a great idea & well-planned fun! You probably have enough planned when you factor in eating & opening gifits, but I'd probably do the Hidden Mickey hunt too...just because I love the idea! LOL Also, I'd probably keep the video handy w/o too much set up for "just in case" but not actually plan on using it. KWIM?

What a wonderful party!! I love your ideas, I just wish my youngest wasn't 15 or I'd do this myself.

Wow! That all sounds great, I've even saved the link into my favourites for when Bean is having birthday parties!

The blog mentions the kids received Mickey shaped rice krispy treats in their goody bags. Can I ask how you did them as they sound brilliant?

I loved the blog about it. It sounds like you had a great party!

Here is a picture of the goody bags with the rice crispie treat. I made a regular pan of rice crispies, sprinkled the top with mini M&Ms, sprayed a Mickey shaped cookie cutter with PAM, then cut out the shapes. I also proceeded to eat ALL the trim pieces. I had earlier tried a batch of chocolate dipped ones covered in sprinkles which were cute, but an extra step, I also tried mixing the mini M&Ms into the treats, but they either melted or got squished.

I wrapped them in individual treat bags from Michaels and froze them until the party. The website said they could be frozen for 2 weeks, so I took advantage of that and made them early. I tried a few that had been frozen and there was no taste difference.

I love your party theme. I did a not so scary halloween party for DD 2 years ago and it was so much fun but I didn't have enough planned for the 28 Kindergardeners that showed up. It worked out ok....we threw in a dance party. I am a former preschool teacher and I know to overplan and I did but the flew through scavenger hunt and finished it in record time. Maybe we will do a WDW party next year. Thanks for posting the blog. I enjoyed it.
