Help with visiting Tampa, FL?

If we wanted to visit Busch Gardens, book an offshore fishing excursion and want to be near a beach....can anyone recommend a condo to book? It would be me, DH and kids 15 and 9 y/o.

I need all the info anyone can provide to help put this vacation together, we are completely unfamiliar with Tampa.

Hi, I am only about 45 minutes from Tampa...my Dh works in Tampa. There are no real beaches directly in Tpa. You would have to travel across one of the bridges to get to Clearwater or St.Pete where there are several beaches. Right near by Busch Gardens is Adventure Island, a huge water park, your kiddos would love that!! I have no help with Condo rentals but I would think your best bet would be to call a realtor in Tampa to see what available. Hope you enjoy your trip!

I just re-read your post...where is the fishing excursion? When are you coming to Tpa? You might want to stay closer to the beaches and just drive to BG?

Thanks for you're reply...I haven't booked a fishing excursion yet...that's another post! LOL! I would like to stay closer to the beach, any beach and drive to BG, we'll have a rental, so that's not an issue.

We'll be coming in August, I'll poke around for realtors, thanks!

No problem...the beaches would be my choice too! There are some beautiful ones here. Indian Rocks beach is probably one of my favs as well as Dunedin Beach. There is a ferry that you can take over from Dunedin Beach to Honeymoon Island and the water over there is really pretty. Have fun planning your trip!! Also keep in mind that it is very HOT here in August so drink lots of water and wear sunscreen! My dh has had 2 skin cancers removed in the last 6 mths so make sure to bring good sunblock for your face all the way down to your toes. I known many people come down here and within an hour be burned crispy which then ruins their whole vacations. It is possible to get a tan without getting burnt. Sunblock is a must!!!

We stayed at a place called Bilmar Beach Resort (http://www.bilmarbeachresort.com/). We really enjoyed it, plenty to do right there at the beach, restaurants/shops etc all up and down the coast there. And it was not much trouble to drive over to Busch Gardens at all.
