Help with using banked points from 2021in 2023

We haven't used our points in a couple of years and now that I'm trying to book an upcoming trip - I'm realizing I've forgotten how some of the rules work. I'd appreciate any help you all can give me.

Our use year is October. We have our points from 2021 all banked into this year. We also have all of our points from the 2022 use year available.

We are looking to book a trip for this fall. Early October would be our first choice - but we aren't sure if the banked points from 2021 would be available for a trip in October of 2023 (We will need the points from both years for the trip). We can't remember if we have to complete the trip before October of this year for those points, or if we just have to have the trip booked before October.

Your banked 2021 points expire September 30th, 2023. So those won’t be valid for an October trip.

Everything is based on when the trip happens.

If you're a little flexible for the sake of making things complicated you could use the 2021 points at the end of September and then bank your 2022 points to be used during early October but unless the point chart magically lines up for the exact amount of points you have in your contract you're likely straggling some points. It's better if you can grab something in September or earlier if you can and just have your trip then.
