Help with use year?

Can someone help me figure this out? We are planning on buying at AKV in Feb 09 when we go down for a short trip. We travel the 2nd week of December (always) or in mid-May (2nd trip). What would be our best use year month? TIA!

That is our familes schedule as well and December seems to be a good user year. We get out points right before our first trip and if we cancel our May trip we still have until July 31st to bank them.

So you don't use your current year points for your December trip right? I want to be able to book at the 11 month window since we go at a budy DVC time. If our use month is December, won't I be banking and borrowing for the December trip with the 11 month window?

as stated in the link i provided: "use year has nothing to do with when you may call to make a reservation."

if you buy in february 2009, you will be able to book AKV immediately for dec 2009. most likely, you will get 2008 UY pts (good for travel from dec 1, 2008 through nov 30, 2009) which can be used immediately in that time period or else banked into your 2009 UY for use in dec 2009 if you prefer. (or you could also book dec 2009 using your 2009 pts and use your banked 2008 pts in may 2010 - which you could book in june 2009 at AKV. or, if there is availability in may 2009, you could use all of your 2008 and 2009 pts to book that...and still book dec 2009 in feb using your 2010 pts...there are many options...)
