Help with U.S. Passports...

I apologize in advance for this simplistic question. Where do I get a passport? We've never needed one before and I'm sure my small city does not have a state department office.

Again, thank you in advance for answering such an elementary question.

You can get your passport photos made in a great number of places. If nothing else, try your local wal-mart.

Someone asked about ID's for children. I know they don't NEED them, but it never hurts to have a picture of your child....just in case. We took our children to have Personal Identification cards made, same place they do the drivers license, and they cost about $3 a piece and are considered government issued. Now, the boys have passports also, but we will be leaving those onboard the ship in the safe and only taking their ID's into port with us. I think I am maybe a little paranoid, but I have been out of the country and 'misplaced' my passport before and it was NOT FUN trying to get back in......and that was prior to 9/11 so I can't imagine what it would be like now!
