We are going to be at DLR over Labor Day weekend with our DD5 and DS who will be 10 months old at the time. What I need help with is figuring out how to sterilize our DS's bottles. We will be staying in a standard room in the GCH. We have the microwavable steam bags that sterilize the bottles, and I know there is a microwave down at WWS, but I'm not sure if there would be an issue with us using the microwave for that purpose. He's only drinking formula and the bottles will have been washed clean first, of course.

Anyway, if anyone has any tips on how to handle this, I would appreciate it. Thanks!

OK maybe I was/am a horrible Mother...I HOPE NOT but when we traveled and our kids were under a year, we did not sterilize the bottle...we just washed them with hot water and soap. Also at home I only used the Dishwasher we did not sterilize them any other way. I hope you figure something out that works for you. Have a Great trip.

It might be overkill to sterilize them with each cleaning. Maybe we won't have to worry about it. Thanks for your response!

I didn't sterilize our bottles at home either! Unless your child has a special medical condition I think you will be okay as the water is treated. If you are concerned though, I don't think you will have any issues using the microwave down at WWS. People heat bottles and leftover food all the time. It can be a bit tricky though because it's one of those microwaves that is not like what you have at home where you enter the time and power. If you've ever seen one of those microwaves in a hospital where you press 1-10, it's like that I think. DH went down to heat food one time and killed it.

I would use bottled water for the formula though for taste.

At ten months, Dobiebrat was drinking cold cow's milk out of a sippy cup, so I am sure that your child could manage without sterilised bottles...

...and yes, I am the world's worst mom! Just ask her! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I know my twins are crawling on the floor already and getting germs from all sorts of delightful toys so sterilizing anything would be a waste of time for me... enjoy your free time and don't fret over the sterilization!

when my children started rolling, and getting themselves off a baby-rug onto the carpet/floor was the time that I stopped sterising bottles...

My kids where doing that by 10 months - so I would wait and see where your child is at...
