Sorry... Not sure where to ask this but I need some advice and its free dining related.

So I booked for the first time ever with a travel agent in April (I ALWAYS book our vacations myself and we've done flights, trips, cruises and Disney with me planning) it was a good deal and I took the chance, letting we know what a big deal free dining was for me and that we would switch to another resort if needed for us to get that offer. Before I put my deposit down I email with the TA numerous times with no problem. As soon as the deposit was in it became another story. I emailed her repeatedly with no response and after a week sent her an email outlining how concerned I was by the lack of response. She replied apologizing and letting me know she was getting the answers I was looking for. Fast forward 3 weeks... No further info. Emailed again as soon as they announced the potential dates for free dining being available.... No response. Emailed again a week later asking her to call us.... No response. Yesterday I called her company to try and get someone to call me back... No response yet but I'm hoping that's just because its a Sunday. I am freaking out for more than one reason. First off omg did I pay someone and get scammed?? Second am I going to miss free dining?? Cause even though its lame its a HUGE deal to me. I should have done it myself... Lesson learned I'm thinking :( so what do I do now? Book on the 7th myself and get this reservation cancelled? Try to switch to a new agent? Try to find this agent... Not sure I even want to do that.... What would you all suggest??

That's horrible!!! Our TA was great. Always responded even when we were on vacation and had questions. Her name is Dana Kidd she has a FB page. Hope things work out.

I would definitely book on the 7th if you haven't heard anything by then. You could always cancel that reservation if your agent does come through and books it for you. Although, if it were me, I might consider just cancelling the travel agent res since they don't seem to be doing anything to earn your business.

I would cancel. TAs should reply back on same day. If out of office, voice mail/msg should indicate name & # of agent to reach while out of office. All transactions, booking, changes must go through TA when booked with TA. So if you were to call Disney, the response would be to contact your TA for all things regarding booking. And that would be correct.

All of your mailings, tickets, reservation packet, etc. generally goes to TA & they nail documents to you. If you haven't heard back in over 4 weeks & Disney is making numerous changes/ promotions/ ticket releases, I would cancel now. I would not give them any more money.

Also, hopefully deposit was made by credit/ debit card. If so, dispute charge with CC company. You should win dispute. Also, call company & ask for supervisor/manager, and demand nicely, but firmly for your deposit. My 2 cents.

The stress. & what ifs are not worth it. I'd rather a small loss, $200-400 deposit to recoup through CC dispute, than trip paid in full & your needs & requests are not being met & you are stressed out. There are only X number of rooms @ certain resorts for FD, you wouldn't want to miss out. Also, ADRs are sometimes harder during FD, so I would want all my ducks in a row regarding reservation. Remember need reservation # for ADRs @ 180D + 10.
