Help with Surprise Trip

Our trip this coming December is a surprise birthday trip for my son who is turning 8. I am not telling him until we arrive at the airport (which is only 15 minutes from the house). Any suggestions on how to tell him? Should I just tell when we get there? Make him guess? Give him a themed present to unwrap?

what about a treasure hunt that leads to the airport then have the final clue about going to Disney in his carry on bag

You can put in his carryon then when you get to the airport ask him to get something like a candy bar you packed on his carry on but the first thing he will see will be the book
