Help with Special Request

I am so frustrated right now I am seeing stars. I have made 6 calls to try and arrange for a chocolate slipper for my kids as a surprise for our upcoming trip. I have called Les Chef du France as I was told by the cake hotline people. They had me call the Grand Floridian who in turn sent me back to Les Chefs. Not to mention the call to MS in the beginning of this mess. Can anyone tell me who I need to call to get a chocolate slipper for my kids? Is it only at certain resturants or can it be delivered the same as a special order cake anywhere?Thanks in advance for your help.

1 - ask your question again on the Dining boards. The experts over there will know (it might even be answered in the Cakes thread but I don't know if it is).

2 - I believe it is only available at a very limited number of restaurants. I know you can get it at CRT. I have never heard anyone say they got it at Chefs.

Here's what I found in an article today by a woman named Amanda Ross, who says she is a Authorized Disney planner and runs her own tour company; they can only be ordered for CRT or for any Grand Floridian Restaurant.

If you are doing CRT, the number is (407)824-7091. If you are dining at any of the Grand Floridian Restaurants, you must call the bakery at (407)824-2578. They must be ordered at least 48 hours in advance.

You CAN get the slipper to go, however. We picked one up at the podium and paid and took it back to the room.

The problem you're having is basically that you can't get a chocolate slipper at Chefs de France - they're only available at Grand Floridian restaurants and CRT. You need to call the Grand Floridian Bakery as that's who makes them. Use Missytara's numbers if you want to order one. MS and WDW-DINE can't help you with special cake orders but they ought to be able to tell you who to call - don't know why they can't do that.

If you can't make a reservation at a GF restaurant, the previous poster noted you might be able to get them to go, but that might not be much of a surprise and I'm not sure I'd want to carry one to Chefs de France from the Grand Floridian.

1) As mentioned above, it can be confusing.
2) It is available only at CRT and at Grand Floridian restaurants.
3) Many people do not know this and try to order it for other eateries.
4) Compounding this, many CM's don't know this.
5) Then, you get what appears to be a run-around trying to arrange it.
6) Sorry for all the confusions.
7) Make a ressie at CRT or GF, and you can get the slipper delivered easily.

Thank you all for the information. I should have known to check here first. We will just do a ADR at one of the GF resturants and that will solve the problem.
