Has anyone used this before? It sounds too good to be true. What's the catch? Do they assign you a week or do you get to choose the week (there is a list of dates available)? Do you have to attend the time share presentation?

Thanks for any insight.

We just got back and loved it. I used a REady-Set-Go auction for my week at Silver lake. Total cost was $261/ week and no you do not need to sit in on any timeshare spiel. My other week was at OLCC for $591/week. A bit more but the place was very nice.

Many people have used SkyAuction, us included. We will be staying a week this summer on a SkyAuction win. If you plan it right and win the the auction you want you can get some great deals.

We got a 2 bedroom unit this summer at Fairfield Orlando at Cypress Palms for $326 total after bid/tax/svc fee. Last year we stayed at Vacation Village at Parkway through a skyauction win and loved it. We were looking for it again this year but that property just has not showed up very often the past month or two.

Try and stay away from the bid per night auctions. Sometimes you can get an ok deal with them but quite often they end up costing more then you may be able to book through places like hotelkingdom or even direct.

Just make sure you read the conditions of the auction as some resorts may have a surcharge for certain seasons/dates.

There have been some auctions lately that will require you to attend a sales presentation but it will be stated in the auction. Most auctions do not require you to attend the presentation but some resorts will still try and get you to attend. You are not required to attend so if they ask you to a free breakfast or maintenance meeting, simply decline.

Thanks for your help. I am bidding on a week at Vistana right now!

We recently came back from a week at Vistana Villages that I won from SkyAuction and we were very pleased! You know, when I bid and won it for only 275$, I posted a thread here asking what the catch was :)
Just remember to add 195$ to whatever bid price you set and read all fine print carefully. We did not have housekeeping either (they came only once while we were there), but it was not a problem. If you are bidding on VIstana Villages, you can PM me with any questions.
I think SKyAuction is great and I would use it again in the future.
