Help with RSR strategy

We're AP holders and generally avoid summer, but decided to squeeze in one very quick trip before school starts. We haven't seen Cars Land yet. We'll arrive around Noon next Sunday, and then will be leaving around dinner time Monday. We are thinking we'll stick to DL on Sunday, since we've heard crowds are pretty tolerable there this summer.

How should we handle Monday morning. The big hitch is that one of my 3 kids is under 40", so we can't just all wait in line together. If we get FP's, it sounds like there's a chance our return time would be after we needed to leave. But we if do standy-by, that's 2 hours and then we'd still have to do a rider swap, which I'm assuming will involve spending 40 min in the FP line? Anyone have a strategy for us?

I keep hearing about this 40 min FP line, but having used the FP line numerous times (including the 4th of July), various times of the day, I have yet to wait more than 10 mins (and that is probably stretching it.)

Just warning you that next Monday will be a very crowded day (more so than other summer Mondays) because all of the SoCal APs will become unblocked and lots will be flooding the parks (especially DCA) to see the new stuff (Cars Land and BVS) one time before school starts.

I would recommend the Single Rider line sometime on Sunday afternoon/evening if you guys are ok with that. The SR line hovers usually around a constant 30-40 min all day.

If you don't want to do the single rider line, get there AEAP (as early as possible) on Monday morning (I'd recommend 7:20 at the latest!) and line up to get a FP whenever they let you in to the gates. They'll probably let you inside DCA around 7:30ish, where you'll line up by the Carthay Circle Theater to get a FP. Wait 30 min and they'll start distributing FPs at 8. My guess is that if you are there early enough, you should be able to have RSR FPs in hand around 8:20AM and have an early afternoon return time.

Also, for the record, the line to ride RSR with a FP is usually no longer than 20-25 min. It's gone down significantly since opening day. It does seem to be a little longer later on in the day because some people don't return during their actual return times. If you return during your actual return time my guess is that you'll only have to wait 15 min tops.

Good luck! I'll be there next Sunday as well! :thumbsup2

Good observation...just wondering when school will return...so that we can go right after, during the week. We would like to go in Aug if we can.

Yeah, we know about SoCal being unblocked, but it'll be our only chance until October, so we'll just do the best we can. One of us may do Single Rider, but can't with the kids- they're just 8 and 5. My 8 year old is very anxious with rides and would never go without one of us, and they won't let the 5 year old. Sounds like arriving early for FP is our best bet- or possibly braving standby Sunday evening if waits aren't too bad, then having the other person do SR.

FWIW, today DH got in line at 7:35 and got a fast pass for 9:40 am at 8:10 am. There were tons of APs at the EE.
