The DH and I will be staying in stateroom # 7630, which is a category 5, deluxe stateroom with verandah.
I think I looked at the DCL site and it showed that our rooms was one of the ones with the solid wall on the verandah (which doesn't really matter much to me)...but I just wondered if anyone else had any info. on this room. Like where is it located in realtion to the other places on the ship...Is it close to an elevator...is it at the front or the back of the ship...etc, etc, etc.
TIA!! :flower:

you can actually check out the deck plans on the DCL website.

room #7630 is way aft (back of the ship) with a category 7 navigator's verandah room on one side and another cat 5 on the other side.

You won't be too far from the aft elevators ... about 1/2 a ship away from the midship elevators (which are typically busier).

Aft deck 3 is the Parrot Cay restaurant ... aft deck 4 is the Animator's Palette restaurant ... aft deck 5 is the Buena Vista movie theater ... aft deck 9 is the buffet & Mickey (kids) pool ... aft deck 10 is Palo ... so you've got quite a bit that's within a short elevator ride from your room.

I think that area behind the aft elevators is very quiet. Few venture that way unless they have a purpose. (like the "secret" deck 7 overlook). I think it is a nice area!

We are on the 1/16 Wonder, must be the cruise right after yours. We're in Atlanta/Buckhead. And we are on the Starboard side of the ship in 7132, a Cat. 5 with a solid wall, just across from you will be. There was a discussion of the solid wall in the thread about "soooo disappointed 12/30 Wonder". She expected not to like the solid wall before her trip, and confirmed that she did not like it afterwards. However, I am very excited about being in that area--really close to the "secret" deck at the aft of deck 7, for quiet relaxation and sunning, and right by the aft stairs, just two decks up and you will be at beach blanket buffet and near the beverage station and the rest of deck 9, just a few decks down to the restaurants, movie theater, etc. And being at the end of the hall, not much "through traffic" to generate noise--we have twice been all the way forward on deck 7, so we have been stairs only users (except, I confess, at the end of the day on shore, I did not climb 6 flights of stairs after reboarding).

Some other rooms near our area have solid walls but larger verandahs. Our room and your room don't. It will be our first verandah, and I suspect DW, who loves the big porthole in our usual Cat. 8 (the upcoming Cat. 5 was an upgrade) may not like the 5 as much as the 8. Oh well, if I decide I want to try a plexiglass, I'll need to shell out and pay for one on a 5th DCL cruise.
