Help with ride restrictions

I'm trying to figure out if my mom can go on a few of the rides that have the warning (high blood-pressure, neck and back problems, etc) on them. She has high blood pressure and some back issues. But other than that she is in good health.

She won't go on any of the big roller coasters anyway, but I'm wondering about Test Track and Star Tours.

What is in the ride that makes them put in the warning? If its because it jostles you around a bit, how bad is it? The you tube videos don't give me a clear enough idea how the ride FEELS, so I'm hoping someone can give me more information from personal experience.

DISCLAIMER: I know no one is going to give me medical advice. I am just looking for personal experiences to help my mom make some decisions.

They both bounce you around some. Not Big Thunder or Space Mountain, bouncing, but somewhat rough nonetheless. They can jostle one's neck quite a bit.

DW can do neither because of back problems She has severe problems with back. Tried TT and ST and that was end of her day, we went back to resort (OKW) and got in whirlpool and pain med to help. I don't know if this helps, just relating our experience. So my advice better safe than sorry, I know my DW really suffered. Danny

is her blood pressure controlled with medication?
the warning are typically for those that have UNCONTROLLED high blood pressure.
my mom, dad, one sister, and i all have high blood pressure that is controlled by medication and we go on all of the rides.

as for her back issues i'd say test track should be fine but she may want to avoid star tours.
i don't have back issue and after that ride i generally have some slight backpain. it really jerks you around and all that is holding you in is a seat belt. even with my hands firmly on the arm rests and my feet frimly on the floor i still get jerked around.

Yup. If your blood pressure is controlled by medication, I wouldn't worry at all about that. I have high blood pressure controlled by medication and I do much, much more strenuous rides at Cedar Point than Disney even has, and it's never been a problem.

Great, thank you. I'm sure her BP is controlled with medicine, so we don't have to worry about that.

Now for the back problems.... Test Track sounds like it would be okay. Still unsure about Star Tours. I'm also unsure if I should take my 4 yo on Star Tours. She will likely just make the height.

A warning about Star Tours. The back row is higher off the ground. I am 5'5" tall and my feet did not reach the ground. It shook me around quite a bit and was especially painful because my legs did not reach anything to brace against. This may not hurt your back but was a huge problem with knee pain. Definitely wait or ask for another row.

My 4 year old was terrified the first time we road Star Tours but afterwards it was his favorite ride. We must have done it 5 times! It's jerky though.

I have a broken neck and will always have a broken neck. You can't tell it by looking at me but, well, it happened. I avoided Disney World thrill rides for five years until I finally asked the one person who could give me an honest answer and that was my doctor. He told me that he was more worried about me driving in Atlanta area traffic than riding a roller coaster with safety precautions. He said getting rear ended in a traffic accident was more lethal to me than Expedition Everest because at least on the ride, I'd have neck protection.

So - ask your mother's doctor and ask your child's doctor.
