Hey! Made a reservation with Hotwire this afternoon for a hotel for our Disney trip next week. Last year we used hotwire to book a hotel (a year ago this weekend actually - our first ever Disney trip!) and got an amazing hotel (a Raddison I think).

This time, I don't think we're as lucky....we went through the same process since we're just taking a short trip to meet up with friends while they're down there thinking we'd have good luck. We wound up with Ramada Orlando Celebration Hotel & Convention Center. As soon as I got the name I googled it and the website doesn't have a ton of information - looks like it's geared more towards larger events maybe?? I tried calling the number with no answer to ask some questions (how much the fridge costs) make a request (2 double beds)...Then I headed to tripadvisor.com. The reviews there are WAY less than desirable by far! Now I'm concerned.

So I guess my question would be 1 -has anyone stayed here?? 2 - is it really that bad?? 3 - have you had experience with Hotwire regarding a hotel to be less than what you expected (paying for parking, rundown rooms, ect)???

TIA for any help you can provide me!!

Unfortunately I think your stuck with this hotel. I got a room in NJ that was suppose to be near the Meadowlands stadium (was miles away) and I couldn't get anyone to answer the phone to ask any questions at the hotel. It was one of those Extended Stay's and the reviews weren't great. The price was decent but it was disappointing. When I called hotwire, they wouldn't do anything about it. You could try, maybe they have changed there policies. Good Luck!

Thanks for the quick reply! I finally got someone to answer the phone there (I've been trying for just over an hour) and was put on hold for like 5 minutes...hopefully it's because they're so busy???:confused3 I was told about the $5 tabalbe resort fee and $5 non-taxable parking fee/day. Then I found out it's an additional $5/night fee for a mini fridge and another $5/day fee for a microwave... Now I'm just ticked...I asked why their site said there was only a charge for the fridge. :sad2: I just sent an email to Hotwire to share my disappointment with them in choosing a property like this to represent them if the reviews are truly the state the property is in at this time....

I'd love to hear if others have stayed here or had to deal with hotwire....

I'm sorry to hear about your bad experience with Hotwire. From what I've seen this happens one out of five times for me, where they didn't disclose extra charges. Overall I think you can still save a lot of money with Hotwire, but you just have less options because you pay a lot less than retail.

Sorry this won't help you for your upcoming visit but this website can almost always tell you what hotel you will get thru Hotwire. They've been right for me around 7 times now.

If I plan to get an unidentified hotel, I wouldn't go less than 3.5* just to be safe, preferably 4*.

Thank you all very much for your assistance. It's so greatly appreciated!! I'll give that website a try too in the future!

We used that website too. It definitely helps with both hotwire and priceline.

This EXACT same thing happened to me! I got the same hotel and read the same reviews. I cried!! My husband called Hotwire and complained that the reviews we read were so bad. They let us bump up to another star category, of course it was more money, but still only $57/night for the Radisson Celebration. I am much happier now...at least with the hotel I received. I am a little bummed because I would really rather stay on Disney property. I guess I am a little spoiled, but we will give it a try! We really needed to save $$ this time around! Good luck!
