I need experienced cruisers help!

I have a Concierge Cruise booked for February 2025. I did not purchase insurance.

My DH health has changed and we know he will not be able to cruise next February. I just realized I will lose my $1000 deposit! UGH! It was to celebrate his 65th Birthday, it would be his 10th cruise and my 11th.

Can I reschedule the cruise and then reschedule again, basically keep moving it forward till he is ready?

Not to go into personal details but a major life changing surgery could be in play in 2025, with a significant recovery time.

I am looking into maybe moving it till this fall but, his mobility is limited and it would not be the best experince for him.

Thanks inadvance for everyones help on this one.

I am going over DCL website to read and research this issue. I was not sure if they would have the answer there.

I will call them for assistance if I needed.

🚢 🌴👍

The deposit is non refundable but I'm 99% sure you can transfer the funds to a new date. I think the schedule's out until spring 2026? Maybe bump it out 8 months to a year?

Yes, you can push it out. Be careful not to use the word cancel in regards to the current booking. I would move it out as far as possible to allow time for recovery and then rebook the cruise you want.

Thanks, so much for your quick respsonse.

I am currently looking at the April/May 2026 cruises. I found two that may work, a few more hundred dollars, but that's okay.

I am guessing I will have to call DCL. I read somewhere online that you can modify your reservation but I think thats for WDW.

Anyone else? thanks

I will call later today and just say I need to reschedule the cruise to the following year.

Thanks!

The DCL website says there is Modify cruise drop down but I can not find it anywhere.

I am supposed to be able to Modify the cruise on the website?

Any pointers?
Best of luck for a speedy recovery and an amazing cruise!
Thank you for your well wishes....much appreciated. 😎

While you are tending his health, take care of yourself, too. Hoping for a good recovery.

Consider a shorter cruise since health issues are tricky. Better to be closer to the doctor by days should something go wrong. My father had a liver transplant and has had illness after so shorter is safer. Add a few days at a hotel before and better after to see local attractions that can be canceled easier.
