Help with Replacement Toy

We just returned from 3 days at the DLR. My son purchased a lightsaber from one of the carts last night, but accidentally crushed it in the car door on the way home today.

Is there a phone number I can use to purchase a replacement (such as there is at WDW)? He is really upset about it and he did buy it with his own money. I think I can describe it well even though I don't have an accurate product name.

I appreciate any help!

Call 714-781-4000. Tell them you need to replace a light saber from your very recent trip that got damaged on the trip home. They will connect you with the right department, probably DelivEars.

Thank you! He is so crushed and committed to finding a way to fix it--I feel awful for him.

Walmart and Target have the majority of the ones they offer DL (but not every single one). You might be able to replace it that way as well.:goodvibes

DelivEars is GREAT!! We bought DS 12 a Captain Jack "action figure" when we were there in Dec. and gave it to him for Christmas. When he was taking it out of the package and assembling it, part of it broke. I called DelivEars the first part of January and they replaced it - for FREE and shipped it to my house - for FREE and didn't need me to send the other toy back. I did have my receipt, though. I don't know if that makes a difference.

They were super nice and very helpful and it was a great experience. I would definitely call them and tell them what happened. Hopefully you can describe it well enough for them to replace it. Was it one of those cool lightsabers with the different colored LED lights in it with the silver handle? My DS's love those.

That's good to know, Brady's Mom. Yes, it is one of the LED lightsabers with the silver handle. I don't have a receipt because the kiosk didn't have them, but I'm willing to pay for the replacement. I have no idea why he is so attached, but he is. We looked at about 5 places for a light-up toy he wanted and he finally found this one.

The bright chrome-colored one with the 3 different speeds? Ah yes, know it well. My SIL bought DS 2 of them...well, one for her, one for him. Alas both are now living in San Diego b/c we couldn't figure out how to get them home.

Be sure to specify it's that one, to whomever you find to get it for you, if it's that one, b/c otherwise you'll end up with something very different.

Every single child that saw that thing in DS's hand wanted one...and in fact that's how DS's aunt found them, b/c she saw them in someone's hand. :)

if Disney wont help you, id be happy to buy it for you and ship it to you. if possible, send the broken one back and i can go exchange it would be easier, unknown about shipping charge though.

are they that big? can you take it apart to pack in a suit case? my son is going to want one, but if I can nto get it home :scared1:

They are that big and are *delicate*. My boys have used them for light saber wars and have had to do some fancy taping where the handle and the light up part meet. We drove in Dec. and that's when we bought them, so we just stuck them in the back of the car, up and behind the back seat. That way we didn't have to pack them in a suitcase and risk them getting squished or broken. I don't know how to do it if you fly???

sounds like there not made very well, Im going to pass on these :)

:lovestruc and this is why we love our fuzzy Albort so much. :)

They are not made very well at all and they cannot be taken apart, but they are ridiculously cool-looking*, and I don't think they are too expensive (but I don't know).

We use smaller, soft-sided luggage, and it wouldn't have fit in the checked suitcase, and it would have been squished. We got VERY lucky flying out from LAX last time with a huge plastic sword and a Rebel Alliance Blaster in our *carryon*, and I wasn't going to risk that, especially since we left from San Diego this time (TSA agents not so used to the toys in the luggage in SAN).

We had to leave ours with my brother, as a toy DS and my sister in law can have fun with (she bought two) when we visit them.

*everyone but moms, from kids to adult males and even females, commented on how cool they were...and really, only one mom seemed overly annoyed when her child saw DS's. :)

Thanks everyone! After much searching, the nice woman at DelivEars found the item. It's a Star Wars Silver Handle Strobe Lightsaber (or something with those words in some combination).

It cost me an arm and a leg, but it's worth it. ;)

Yay! Glad to help and thrilled your little boy will be getting his replacement toy. Thanks for posting the outcome so it was not a cliffhanger.
