now that the "reservation wanted" threads are no longer valid, how does one go about renting points?

i've checked out the "points for rent/trade" threads, but by the time i get there, i'm #674 in line.

any tips/suggestions would be appreciated!

thanks. :)

I think the best thing to do is to just keep trying and getting your name out there. Due to circumstances other potential renters may/will fall through. You may be just be what the owner is looking to rent to.

I also think just being active on the boards and people can see that you are sincere in your posts. Whenever anyone PM's me about something I ususally go spy on their previous posts.

I feel your pain. It's mind boggling trying to keep up with all the threads. Then when I give up and walk away for awhile, I come back to find that one I was looking for was posted and is now gone. I guess I could aways buy some points but that would be too easy. LOL.

When we rented our points earlier this year, we had this happen. The very first person who contacted us pm'd us after the Ressies were made and I had closed the thread to say they had something come up and they couldn't do the trip--I hadn't mailed the contracts yet and just moved to the next person in line...

Also keep an eye out for return emails/pms...one of the people I contacted when this happened never responded to me....it was like they dropped off the face of the earth.

Some owners do not keep their threads bumped and have a harder time renting their points because their thread gets buried. Check with some of the ones further down the thread list or on the next page to see if anyone has something available.

Good Luck!
