Hi everyone!!!

first I"d like to say I LOVE this board.. everyone is so helpful and eager to give advice and make sure we all have the best weddings ever.. so thank you to all of you!

Ok, now my fiance and I are going to honeymoon in aruba and I wanted our reception dinner to be something that reflected that. The best places would either be Ohana's or The spirit of aloha dinner show right? I know those are more hawaiian and not carribean, but I guess it's as close as I could get.

Of those two places... which would YOU choose and why?

At first I wanted the luau (sp) because my mother has always wanted to do it and we never have gotten a chance to.. but then I remembered that it's outside and there is a chance it could be cancelled due to the weather.

Also, I'm wondering if maybe Ohanas is just better food or service or would be more fun for the two little ones that will be at our dinner (they are 6 and 4). And if we do the dinner show.. we'll all be so busy watching the show and won't be talking to each other right?

thanks for any help! I know maggimus ate at Ohana for her reception... lol. I keep thinking my wedding is going to be identical to hers!!! Sea breeze point wedding, ohanas reception, and randy chapman (hopefully) for my photos! lol

O'Hanas for MANY MANY reasons..

Its a great atmosphere
The food is good (the bread pudding is my favorite)
You can see wishes from Ohanas and as soon as the music is piped in it gives you cold chills

Ohana's is an all round good experience!! I certainly recommend it to you!

I vote for Ohana's....the food & atmosphere is much better. The Spirit of Aloha show is not very good and the food leaves alot to be desired.

Ohanas. :yay: This is where we are having our welcome dinner. Also, if you time it right (at night) you can see Wishes and they pipe in the music. It is all you can eat served family style, so no one will go hungry, but you don't have to get up like at a buffet. This one of DF & my favorite restaurants at WDW. Finally, you can wear your dress since it is not in a park. Oh, it is cheaper $25 adult, compared to $50 at the show, so you save come $, which always helps (get something nice in the islands!!!) :cool1:

Another vote for Ohana's. We are having our reception there. It's my DF and mine favorite restaurant. Don't forget about the coconut race:)

what's the coconut race?

thanks everyone .. I really think I'm leaning towards ohanas now! and bread pudding?! mmmmm. *rubs belly*

if anyone has anything else to add though, please feel free to give me opinions on either place.

It's a race the kids do. They push coconuts around the restaurant with brooms. It's a lot of fun. I remember doing it as a kid. They also have a hula lesson and hula hoop contest (parents can join in to) throughout the night.

I've never been to either, but I vote for Ohana because it's inside and air conditioned and you can watch Wishes during dinner. Plus I'm having my welcome dinner there so I think it's an excellent choice
