I posted a similar thread on the budget board, too...perhaps someone here can give me input, too (please!) :)

Poly GV Concierge Level - early May 2003
I see some people saying this room should be around $270/night (room only), but I'm being quoted $440/night (room only) via Disney. I only have AAA and those rates are not in yet (at the most it would be 10% off, I'm guessing.) Where is everyone coming up with $270/night? I'd love to get that rate.

Another thing I looked into was a Dreammaker package through AAA.

Comes to around $4700
7 nights
2 adults, 1 child
airfare
insurance
Ultimate Park Hoppers

I don't have my heart set on a package. If I could save a lot of money, I'd be happy to buy things separately. I'm being told that this is possible...my question is how? Thanks!

The $270 per night rate was probably from the discount codes that were available.

AAA discounts are available and are anywhere from 10-20% off.

Josie,
May is considered regular season though, right? The discount codes available now are for value season (I think). Could that be the reason for the big difference?

The lowest I've ever seen for a GV concierge room at the Poly was $254 (includes tax) per night. That's with a code rate, which are usually released 2 - 4 months in advance. They are usually available to the general public, but also the do release Annual Passholder rates which are usually similiar or better than the code rates. If you want to book something now, the only thing you'll find for May is either Disney Club discounts or AAA rates, which you say haven't been released yet. If you don't mind waiting until codes are released, you'll probably find a much better deal. If you book a package, check into the cancellation policy, if you can cancel without penalty, you could book it, and wait for a code rate to come out. Then you could cancel your package and get the code rate for your trip. Most of the code rates are for room only, so you'd have to buy your passes separately. I hope this helped!!

AAA rates have been released for all of 2003, so if no discount is coming up, it's because there is no availability or they don't discount concierge rooms (which I have seen before). The AAA discount isn't as deep as the codes, but you can reserve it farther in advance.

The packages are convenient, but they don't ususally save you money.
