Help with Quinceanera gift amount

Hi all,

My DD is in her friend's Quinceanera next weekend. I am wondering if any of you can give me any idea what the proper amount of money we should be giving the birthday girl as her gift? We have never been to a Quinceanera before, so not sure what to do.

You are going to get all kinds of answers. I seem to remember the amount from friends being $50 to $100.

When we went to Quinceaneras many, many years ago, we used to give $15. We'd go to the bank beforehand and get 15 crisp, new $1 bills. With inflation, maybe now you might want to consider crisp, new $5 bills, so that the Quinceanera girl gets $75.

My son was just in a quince last week. We chose to give a gift instead of money. That said, the gift or cash should be in the 50-100 range for close friends.

We gave her a very nice Vera Bradley bag.
