I recently was given an 8-qt programmable pressure cooker. I have no idea how to use this but I know my Mom adored her old-fashioned one and used it all the time.

How do you convert a Crock-Pot recipe into pressure cooking? I assume it needs less liquid? How do you figure out the timing?

Any favorite pressure cooker recipes out there?

It depends on what you are cooking, you will use different pressure settings for different types of food ie: I use 10lb pressure for 20 minutes on my green beans then take the lid off and let cook down. You really need a owners manual if you have never used one because if not handled properly they can be very dangerous. I always start my timing when the top starts to "jiggle". You may be able to find a manual on the internet.

Pressure cooking ais also very fast (I believe) - the opposite of a crock pot, it can give a lovely stew in a short time. I've not got one as they scare me:eek:
