Hi. We are really interested in understanding more about DVC. We are looking for 2 weeks for a 2 adults, 1 child in August. Due to work there is no chance of the this changing i.e will always been July or August we travel. Looking at SSR and trying to see how many points we require? Any help appreciated!

You can find the point charts for all the resorts online but for SSR in the time frame you are looking it's 120/week for a Studio and 241/week for a 1-Bedroom Villa. Early June and Late August are a little cheaper but I figured you are trying for summer break.

Thanks really useful. Another stupid question what is the difference between a studio and one bedroom as they both sleep 4? Seems studio is no brainier? Or am I missing something obvious!!!!

1BR has a full kitchen, separate living area, washer/dryer and jacuzzi. OKW studios are 390 sq ft, while OKW 1BRs are about 1000 sq ft. (other resorts are not quite as large.)

Studio: Features a queen-sized bed with a double-sized sleeper sofa. These 355 sq. ft. units include a kitchenette with microwave, under-counter refrigerator, wet bar, coffee maker, ceiling fan, TV, clock radio, hair dryer, full bath with outside vanity, wall safe and private porch or balcony.( Four guests maximum plus one child under age 3 in a crib.)

One Bedroom: These 714 sq. ft. units feature a master bedroom suite with a king-sized bed and a queen-sized sleeper sofa in the living room. Amenities include a fully equipped kitchen with all major appliances, stacked washer/dryer, luxurious full bathroom with whirlpool tub and separate walk-in shower, TV in each room with a DVD player in the living room, ceiling fans, clock radio, dining area, hair dryer, wall safe and private porch or balcony. (Four guests maximum plus one child under age 3 in a crib.)

but if all you want is a place to crash, a studio is probably fine...

here's a video showing a SSR 1BR:

We picked points for 1 bedroom because with my daughters allergies we prefer eating in as often as possible so the full kitchen is a plus. I also hate coming home with dirty clothes so the washer/dryer is awesome. And lastly it provides a little more privacy. At some resorts, the 1 bedroom will sleep 5.

A Studio is essentially a hotel room.

A 1-bedroom is 2 separate rooms; a master bedroom with king bed & whirlpool tub and a combined living room & kitchen with foldout queen sofa.
