help with planning

Hi I posted a little while ago I dont see it any where so I will ask again.
Im planning a 40 b-day, I made reservations to stay at the animal kingdom lodge , I booked a savanah room. Can you help me ? Do I have to ask for a particular area so I get a better view? What activities can we do and if you have pictures I wll love to see them . Thanks for helping me

I'm planning an 80th b'day celebration. We're staying in a savanna room at AKL. I asked for arusha savanna, zebra trail b'c we want to see zebras (and giraffes and anything else coming by). I read as much as I could on these threads before settling on arusha/zebra.


for the b'day "present" I booked the sunset safari. Originally I thought this was only available to concierge guests but that's not true (it's just $50pp cheaper for concierge guests). They only go a few days a week and it costs $210 (or 200)pp. You meet at 3:45pm and get a private safari on the savanna with 12 ppl total in the party (Yep they'll be strangers if your group isn't of 12). You must be 16 or 17. You spend about 1-1/2 hours on the savanna getting a REALLY CLOSE view of the animals then you come back to AKL for a special dinner (pre-set menu). I figure it'll all be over by about 7 or 730pm. talk about up close and personal!

If that's too steep for your budget, there's always the night vision binocular viewing and the free activities and storytime at the hotel.

BTW, we're having 18 at the birthday dinner so we decided to have it at Wilderness Lodge's Artist Pointe (California Grill was JUST TOO EXPENSIVE for 18 ppl!)

I made sure to tell my TA and everyone I spoke to about special arrangements that it's gonna be my DH's 80th birthday celebration! Doesn't hurt to advertise.
