With all the experience out there has anyone ever done this? I'd like to do it for my husband during our Sept/Oct stay but I'd love to hear about it first hand. Any information much appreciated!

Thanks!
Stephanie

DH did the 3 hour Rookie Experience and LOVED it! To say it was an unforgettable experience would be an understatement. Just don't plan anything important for the rest of the day-all he did was call everyone he knew to tell them all about it. In between phone calls, he'd repeat "Did I tell you how much fun I had?" And this is from someone who ordinarily doesn't show emotion so I was really surprised.

what is the 3 hour experience? this sounds like something my dh would
L-O-V-E! :cool1:
we have little ones...any suggestions what i can do with them while dh races cars?!

As far as the little ones, there isn't really anything else to do there, except watch. We had DS, then 7, with us. It took about 4 hours total, from arrival to departure, & he was fine. He took lots of pictures of his dad & the cars. I would guess it all depends on the child. While we were there, they offered a free ride (in the van, about 55mph) around the track. DS declined & regretted it.

my DH LOVED and still speaks of fond memories racing along the Disney Track! We left of youngest (3y/o) at home for that day due to the loud noise factor. Our DS (8 & 6 then) LOVED it. It was a very family friendly enviroment. The kids were given a zip around the track in a van going about 60mph and our DS got to ANNOUNCE the drivers. Very cool!! Don't forget to use your AAA card for a nice little discount!!

We went last Oct, my dad isnt a big disney fan (go figure! :cool1: ) Knowing the weather is "iffy" I signed him up for the 4 hour Rookie on the first day - it rained, so he went back, he loved having his "own" thing... He got it in the 3rd or 4th day, but hung around the track enough that he changed it into the bigger experience - King I think... then he wanted mom to experience, so he signed her up for the ride along!!

and you're right, there isnt anything for the kids to do - they have to go thru a "class" safety, rules etc (dad got tired of going thru that :rotfl: )

but he'd do it again in a heartbeat!! I took dh and dd and we did the park - - and met up after lunch...

That's just what I was hoped for! I never thought of going along... I think we'd all be happier if Daddy went solo and told us all about it when he gets home!!

Thanks again!

My DH has done this at WDW and around our house and he loves it, and he would highly recommend this.

My DH (who is a big open wheel fan, not NASCAR) did this at Indianapolis. He did the "ride along" and said it was incredible. Of course, then he wanted to drive. Wasn't much to watch though...I think it's really a hands on experience.
