We are going to disney in May. Staying at BCV. We arrive early on saturday and plan to probably spend the rest of the day at the pool and epcot for dinner. I can't decide which park to do on sunday. I have two DD (2.5 and 5.5) I have heard conflicting advice regarding going to magic kingdom the first day with little ones ( some say they will be bored at other parks after experiencing MK).
ALso some books say to avoid the parks on days with extra magic hours and some say to take advantage of them.

Help!!!!

Get up early and go to the parks with the EMH for opening. If you wait, forget it they will be swamped by 10 or 11. Either eat lunch at the park and then go to the resort, or eat lunch at the resort for a nap/swim, and then go back out in the evening.

About MK, I'd do Epcot on Sunday and MK on Monday. Usually MK is busier on weekends because of locals.

If you are staying for a week, what we did w/ a 4 and 6 year old was get to the parks pretty much at opening - we'd have dnr at the park and then leave the park about 4 or 5 and have dnr back at the resort and go for a swim or just rest. The days we wanted to see the firework shows, we'd get to the park later in the day!

alot of people recommened going back to the hotel in the afternoon for a rest/nap, thats really not for us - i'd never go back again after relaxing by the pool!

we avoided the parks with the late evening hours!

On our last trip we tried the emh at mk and we won't do it again...the park was much busier than we anticipated and ended up not enjoying ourselves. This also happened to be our first full day and our daughter was so exhausted by 11 we ended up leaving. It was just our experience , but it was enough to convince us not to use emh again.

Thanks for all of your input. I am hoping to go back to the hotel after lunch for a few hours, so I should probably start the day as early as possible. Does anyone know how busy the crowds are the first week of may?

We did MGM, MK, and AK, in that order. MGM offered just enough characters to get the girls excited, the MK, because it all of our favorites, and AK to wind down our trip. We did go back to the hotel and back to the park in the evening. It was great!!

From what I've read on these boards and in books is that Monday is the busiest day for the MK..most people arrive on Sundays and MK is usually the first park visited. I think a Sunday morning at MK on an evening PM would be fine..I would think people maybe be arriving a little later in the day since MK is open later in the evening (those folks usually don't have the park hopper option). Thats what we're doing anyway and then we'll use our park hopper to hop to Epcot for dinner after an afternoon break. Have a great time!

We usually go to what ever EMH park there is in the a.m. and then about 11:00 0r 12:00, when it is getting really crowded we go back to the pool or hop to another park. We always do a different park in the evening, then we did in the morning. We like the variety. That way we get multiple hits at each park. Chances are if a ride we wanted to go on that had a long line Monday a.m., may not on Wednesday p.m. and vice versa.
