I saw the notice of the 2013 shopping discount change as well. Wish I had known that before buying the PAPs earlier this week with the special pricing. The extra discount is (was) a big benefit for us.

It's really going to come down to how many days / trips you think you will take and whether you need the park hopping feature.Dis experts,
Pls help me with some calculations. If my family of 4 (3 disney adults plus 1 child) would need 8 day MYW tix non park hopper plus water park, does it make more sense to buy PAP at $399 each or normal tix?
It's possible we'd be able to use the PAP twice in a 12 month period but not set in stone due to school schedules. I was still thinking PAP is cheaper due to water park tix. We must do Typhoon Lagoon!
Thx

If you are only buying the PAP to take advantage of the difference between the 10% and 20% discounts on selected merchandise, and not using it for minor park entries, you would need to make over $1,300 in discountable merchandise purchases to break even.
Agree, regular pricing does not support a PAP purchase for the purpose of additional shopping discount. I suspect the water parks are the additional feature many rely on to justify. The PAP. However, wrongly go to one water park a year.
It was the special pricing offer ending this year that prompted us to consider it for the additional shopping discount and our annual water park visit.
