I am going to attempt to walk the Disney Marathon. I had to back out of MCM after running three 16 mile runs and one 18 miler. I picked up the MFM walking training plan a few weeks ago at week #8 or 9? My weekday walks have been good, walking at about a 14-14:30 pace for an hour.

So how slow should the long walks be? 15 min miles? I think the plan calls for 14 miles this weekend, but if I get 12 or 13 in, I will be happy.

My last long walk was about 10 days ago and I walked 10.8 miles. Any tips and/or pointers are welcome.:)

I think as far a your pace your LWs should be whatever you are comfortable doing. I strive for the minimum time to qualify for the event and if it feels good I ramp it up. You have to play around with it so you can feel that you are able to carry on a conversation and not be too out of breath to do so.

That pace would be different for everyone.

If you feel comfy at that 15 min per mile walk, then do it. That will give you time to stop and have a photo or 2 or so.

Thanks Lily! :) I am not sure if I would be able to carry a 15 min pace the entire 26 miles though! You are right, I will just experiment the next few months and see how I do!
