Hello Everyone,
We currently have reservations at FW for the week after Thanksgiving and also the first week of December this year. We are only going to be able to be there for one of those weeks and I am not sure which one would be the best. I know that during the week of December 6th there is the Pop Warner event scheduled at Disney and based on some of the posts I have read it appears that it is very busy during that time. Does anyone know if school is out the week after Thanksgiving in Florida? The main reason for our December trip is to experience Disney and FW at Christmas! Are there many camp sites at FW decorated for Christmas during those weeks? If you could only go one of those weeks which one would you choose and why?

Based on my work schedule for the last 36+ years we have not had the opportunity to visit Disney during Christmas and now that I am retired we are really looking forward to this trip!

As always, I really appreciate your advise and your comments!

Thanks,
Doug / datgrt@fw

school here in Florida is out the week of Thanksgiving not the week after. We have reservations starting the 4th of December through the 12th. I, too, have wondered about crowds during Pop Warner but most everything I can find says it's only bad around the "value" resorts where all the kids stay. We may even go over and check out some of the cheer leading shows. We are also going during that time for the Christmas decorations!:santa:

We've stayed at FW during the first 2-3 weeks of December for the past 3 years in a row. A great time to go IMO. Lots of campers decorate for the holidays, with more and more sites all decked out the closer you get to Christmas (there will still be quite a few right after Thanksgiving too).

As for PW week, in terms of the parks/crowds we really haven't noticed a big difference. You might run into a few more groups of kids in the evenings, but they hardly pack the parks.

I think you'd be safe with either week. Have fun! :santa:

I just wanted to add my ditto to Monique's post. "Ditto"

I don't know how to do WDW without crowds...all our visits have been in July or December. We were there last Christmas and while there were crowds, it was always managable. Every one was in the festive mood of the season. It was wonderful. I'd opt for the week in December.
