Help with Options Buy/Tsf/Cash?

I have booked March 10 to 15th using my own points, which are now used up (2013 and 2014 ). I am hoping to reserve March 16 and 17 but right now the resort is showing no availability. Given what I have seen over the last few weeks, I believe it is likely the availability will open up before or during our trip. I would need approx. 58 points for these 2 additional nights.

My question is - what are my options to secure these additional nights? I believe I could transfer points from another member if I could find someone willing, I could pay the cash equivalent for the room for those 2 nights (not ideal as it works out to a lot more $$ than on points). Are there other options I could consider, assuming the availability opens up?

Will any of the brokers waitlist those nights for you?

If not, can't think of any other options - you need to have points in your account (that are valid for the dates you want) before you could book a split stay or even waitlist those last two nights.

Sending pixie dust for a transfer - in your position, I'd consider making a cash reservation as a back up and hope a transfer came about before the no-penalty cancellation deadline arrived.

Thanks Carol - I think that is exactly what I am going to do. That way, worst case I have the hotel room, albeit at a higher price. And will hope for
